Overview

The 2011 GMC Canyon Crew Cab is a prominent contender in the midsize pickup truck segment, competing primarily with the Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab and the Nissan Frontier Crew Cab. Prices start off at an MSRP of $24,045 with the base SLE trim and reach all the way to the top SLT trim carrying an MSRP of $30,005, for a total of 2 trims being offered. With multiple powertrain and cab options available across multiple trims, there is a Canyon for everyone. The Canyon Crew Cab offers 3 exciting powertrains, each offered as both a rear-wheel drive and a 4-wheel drive. The base engine is a 2.9L Inline-4 capable of making 185 horsepower and 190 lb-ft of torque. This engine is rated for a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. The second engine is a larger 3.7L Inline-5 making 242 horsepower and carrying a towing capacity of 6,000 pounds. For more power, a 5.3L V8 engine with 300 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. All three engines are mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. The Canyon Crew Cab only comes with a 5.1 feet bed. All in all, the Canyon Crew Cab delivers an exciting package, both in terms of performance and looks. The rugged and masculine exteriors are offered in 8 attractive colors.

Buying Advice

We believe the top-range SLT trim with a four-wheel drive option would be the ideal choice if you are planning to buy one. It bundles all the features of the base trim along with chrome wheels, a leather-trimmed interior, heavy-duty suspension, and power-heated front bucket seats. You can also opt for the High Stance Off-Road Suspension Package package to enhance the off-road capabilities of the truck.
