Overview

Part of the midsize pickup truck segment, the 2012 Suzuki Equator Crew Cab competes with the GMC Canyon Crew Cab, the Chevrolet Colorado Crew Cab, and the Toyota Tacoma Double Cab. A base price of MSRP $25,699 gets you a 4.0L V6 engine and a 5-speed automatic transmission. Despite the price going up to $29,550, this single powertrain is found in both trims. This engine produces 261 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque, achieving a 0-60 of 8.5 seconds, and is offered as both RWD and 4WD. That said, the Suzuki Equator Crew offers a single 5-feet bed with a maximum payload capacity of 1,471 pounds. It also offers a maximum towing capacity of 6,300 pounds.

Buying Advice

We recommend the RMZ-4 trim for its off-road capabilities and powerful engine. It adds chrome exterior trim, a locking rear differential, Bilstein dampers, skid plates, hill descent and hold control, 16-inch alloy wheels, off-road-oriented tires, foglamps, unique upholstery and more features over the base trim.
