Overview
Competing in the compact wagon, the 2011 Dodge Caliber Wagon goes up against other notable names in the class, like the Scion xB Wagon and the Volkswagen Jetta SportWagen. The Subaru Outback is also a potential rival which comes from the compact SUV segment. Spread across 5 trims, the Caliber starts off at a base price of MSRP $17,380 and carries on to $20,585. Not all trims are built equally, however, as there are 2 powertrains on offer. The standard engine is a 2.0L Inline-4 rated for 158 horsepower and 141 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, the Caliber gives you a towing capacity of 1,500 pounds. An optional 2.4L Inline-4 engine is also offered, with an output of 172 horsepower. A 5-speed manual transmission is offered alongside both engines. Meanwhile, the former engine can also be mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT).
