Overview

When everyone is moving towards electric mobility for everything, what can you expect from the hybrid era, probably something really special? Well, that is exactly what we are about to witness in 2021 from Aston Martin as it is going to reintroduce its first-ever road-legal hypercar Valkyrie with an unabashed intensity and thrill. It is Aston Martin's road-legal F1 car and similar to "Shmee150", we too don't feel there would ever be such a hypercar ever in the future without electrification. Check out Shmee150's full video below for a thorough walkaround.

Buying Advice

Since there is no trim as such, we can scale the lone survivor on different assets to understand its real-time scope. As it is a subject of the no-nonsense platform, the speed curve and exterior dressing are metaphors of all sorts of charming imagery. The interior might not be a comfortable one with challenged visibility, but then its handling is top-notch which you can’t even experience elsewhere. The structural soundness has been bestowed alongside all of this. And all this together makes it a compelling option to own.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

The “out of the league” road presence and the real sports-based machine to date is all alone to go up against the realm of other established names like the Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, Mercedes-AMG ONE, and Koenigsegg Jesko. The all-new Valkyrie will cost you around $3,000,000 exclusive of taxes and additional attachments. Its assets and potential to be at this year’s LeMans will be even more exciting to watch to see if it can sail through the high tides.

Features

The 2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie is a Limited edition with no siblings. The Valkyrie has been brought into existence as a result of a partnership between the Red Bull Racing F1 team and Aston Martin. So, there is a lot of commonality between the sport and this hypercar. The Valkyrie has a Cosworth-styled 6.5L roaring V12 under its hood along with carbon-fiber-reinforced molding as its frame. As the partnership itself suggests, it is entitled to Red Bull Racing Advanced Technologies inside the cabin. There is some sort of trade-off as well with its cushioning convenience for its sports panels, and that is justified because that is what it is meant for.

The high-speed maneuvering has to be assured of safety, and for that, one gets a high-end Intelligent Crash Response System along with Forward Collision Alert. The other features include the presence of steering-wheel-mounted cruise controls and a Rear-Vision Camera with parking sensors. It has been adorned with carbon compounds all over the place from the dashboard to seats to panels to wheels.

Fuel Economy
7.8/10

The 2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie is not a daily commuting persona rather a heart-wrenching high-fuel scaling beast that has no obligation towards fuel crisis and eco-mobility. The configuration, performance curve, and engine capacity are testaments to that. Although we don’t have an official mileage available as per our speculation, the mark would hardly cross 15 mpg at the max. The range would be measured around 250 miles, but that is just guesswork and not a concrete fact.

Well, if we are gauging hypercars, then return and economy are not a segment of healthy discourse. The Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport marking of 8 mpg in the city would be perfect to explain the “Why?” here. The data for them have not been released yet, but they will be somewhere close to one another only. However, it is advisable not to vector this aspect for giving preference to any single one of them.

Interior
8.6/10

The 2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie might be a cornerstone for its performance and sport dynamics, but you can’t expect the same in comfort and convenience from a frame that holds 1160 hp V12 with carbon-fiber sculpted seats. The complete inside-outside Formula 1-inspired design philosophy is indicative of the fact that the visibility and vibration dampening are going to be challenged to a large extent. The seating posture is almost in lay-down format, and that too with little cushioning, meaning your back will have both the feeling of exhilaration and vibration simultaneously. As it maintains the F1 ergonomics, one even has steering-based cruise controls, paddle shifters, and detachability with selectable driving modes.

Since this segment is more performance-oriented, that is why little has been taken into consideration in space management. The capacity to seat in 2 is generic among all of them with the same inclined seating. The other data is not available for any of them, so it is quite a tough task to comment. Since compactness is expected to counter drag with minimal drag-coefficient, inherent interior close packing is going to be standard across the competition. Some of the interior features include:

  • Detachable steering
  • Driver selectable mode
  • Carbon-fiber seats
  • 3-set of display units
  • Steering mounted controls

What’s there to keep you entertained?

The 2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie has been given a 3-set display unit along with an OLED screen just in front of your vision on the steering wheel. One hardly has to wander anywhere for inputs as the steering wheel is a host of all the top-down commands ranging from neutral to pit speed limiter to cruise control. The two side screens on the sides in the 3-display unit are in conjunction with the wheel arches mounted camera which helps you to make up for the visibility as per the ergonomics.

Some of the features are:

  • OLED screen on the steering wheel
  • Cruise control
  • Pit speed limiter
  • 3-set display unit

Exterior
8.8/10

Well, there have been many who claim to be aggressive and sporty in their appeals, however, it is now we have come to realize that all those are nothing but hoaxes, and it is debunked by the pure class of the 2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie. The 2021 Valkyrie is a true sport endeavor in its styling with high wheel arches and low-sloping bonnet with the aerofoil-shaped roof and active rear spoiler. The flanks in the front and a couple of huge diffusers in the rear channel the air to reduce drag and increase downforce respectively.

The carbon-fiber accent is so clearly visible that one should learn the art of attention to detail from these folks.

As far as comparison is concerned, the rivals are as attractive as the Aston Martin Valkyrie, but it is the weight distribution and transfer where the Aston Martin and Mercedes-AMG ONE may have a special mention. Since we are talking of more than 1,000 hp at the wheels, it directs us towards the importance of curbing the lateral torque upshift and forward weight transfer. And these confinements have been restored through all the rivals which are evident from their compact yet streamlined curvature. Thus, we would rate all of them at par with one other without any further exposition. Some of the features are:

  • Couple of Rear Diffuser
  • All Carbon-Fiber Panel
  • Active Rear Spoiler
  • Magnesium Alloy Wheels
  • Michelin High-Performance Tires

Safety
8.6/10

The Aston Martin Valkyrie is the first hypercar of the Aston Martin, which in itself is a surefire test that it is no-compromise engineering in any regard. The high-strength carbon-fiber panels surround the whole body in a continuous structure, thus providing a huge area for impact force. No sharp edge throughout the silhouette also negates the fact that it will have a high concentration factor around its frame.

As it has not been tested by either NHTSA or IIHS for its sheer price and its premium stature, still, the Aston Martin Valkyrie vouches for the highest possible integrity. Apart from impact resilience, it does come with advanced safety features like the Intelligent Crash Response System, Forward Collision Mitigation System, and a complex tuned Traction Control Unit. Some of the features are:

  • Carbon-fiber body
  • Intelligent Crash Response System
  • Forward Collision Mitigation System
  • Traction Control Unit

Competition
6.0/10

2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie vs. 2021 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport

The only parameter to judge these two beasts is their powertrain performance, and they tend to edge out each other in different sectors. The higher power and torque output allow Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport to take a lead in acceleration dominance, while a better weight distribution and aerodynamics help the Aston Martin Valkyrie to level the ground with a higher top speed. In terms of interior spacing, they are at par in their compatibility and squeeziness. Parallel G-Force experience again balances the lever. Thus, they are equally desirable.

2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie vs. 2021 Mercedes-AMG ONE

The Aston Martin Valkyrie and Mercedes-AMG ONE are no less than each other in their styling and exclusivity, but it is that higher capacity V12 with which the former gives a mind-boggling speed of 250 mph, which is 33 mph more than what the AMG ONE churns out at its peak. Otherwise, there is hardly any noticeable gap in their handling artillery, price tag, and relative offers. Thus, it is again a matter of subjectivity, and we leave it to the owner’s end to choose whichever suits their eyeballs.

2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie vs. 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko

The only rival among all to beat Aston Martin Valkyrie’s top speed is the all-new Koenigsegg Jesko. A supreme beast from a brand that has a rich history of breaking records of famous names like the McLaren F1 and Bugatti Veyron is again hitting the track with Koenigsegg Jesko and maintaining that reputation this year as well. But it is sports enthusiasm that has been catered more perfectly in the Valkyrie. So, the lever would prefer the former over Jesko.

Final Verdict

Without a doubt, the 2021 Aston Martin Valkyrie is the car of the year. Everything is on the mark. Perfectly carved to depict what’s there inside. The appeal and performance are a benchmark for others to balance aspects within a real sports car. The price tag is never an issue in this segment, therefore we would ignore it. Moreover, it has a complex sensor unit encompassing the frame for multiple reasons, including feedback at the driver’s inputs, changing driving station, and safety boundary. Therefore, it is a must-buy for you.
