For those interested in an entry-level sports sedan, the Alfa Romeo Giulia might just be the one. The 2020 Giulia strikes a perfect combination between sleek style and powerful performance. Not only performance but Giulia also excels in the interior department as the 2020 model gets a bunch of infotainment updates. However, the space on the rear might be less appealing for some buyers.

But is the 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia reliable? Here we try to answer that by taking a look at its recalls, user complaints, and its performance against its competitors like the 2020 Audi A4 and the 2020 BMW 3 Series.

2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia User Complaints and Problems

Engine and Mechanical Problems

  • Fuel/Propulsion System - An owner of a 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia complained about the inaccurate fuel gauge reading. The car has been sent to the dealership twice yet the issue stays unresolved.

Exterior Problems

  • Sunroof - A 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia owner was driving at highway speed when the glass sunroof exploded without warning. The car was taken to a dealership where it was concluded that the damage was caused by debris striking the vehicle however the owner has dash cam video that contradicts the claim.

Electrical Problems

  • Backup Camera - An owner complained that the backup camera of their 2020 Alfa Romeo is very dim and not bright enough to discern pedestrians walking behind the vehicle which could possibly cause bodily harm.

Should you buy the 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia?

The 2020 Alfa Romeo is a fairly reliable car for its segment as it manages to score above-average reliability ratings. According to the NHTSA, the Alfa Romeo has four recalls and only three user complaints, which can be a sigh of relief for potential buyers. Coming to its competition, the 2020 Audi A4 is a better option compared to the Giulia as it offers nicer cabin materials and better fuel economy. The 2020 BMW 3 Series may also be a good option as it offers better features and fuel economy than the Giulia, although Giulia outweighs the 3 series in terms of performance.

Overall the Giulia is a good option if you're looking for a sedan that doesn't compromise on performance, however, it lags behind its competition in terms of interior quality and space.
