Overview

The 2020 Tesla Model 3 hits the track with a bunch of standard and optional new entertainment and infotainment features such as Software Version 10.0. There is some newer driving assistance technology as well including the Enhanced AutoPilot

Featuring a 3-trim lineup of Standard Range Plus, Long Range and Performance, the 2020 Model 3 MSRP can be an expense of $39,190-$56,190 this season. Having said that, it simply translates to the fact that the range-leader Model 3 Performance 2020 will cost you $17,000 more than the base Range for enhanced specs and assets.

We Recommend

The 2020 Model 3 Standard Range Plus configuration comes with the best value proposition for the majority.

The 2020 Tesla Model 3 has been a fierce competitor to other class-defining drives such as the BMW 3 Series's interior tech-ends, Nissan Leaf's electric range, and S60's sheer power curve. A pure dominance of 250-322 miles in a single charge by its power surge of 271-455 hp is another plus point in its overall pursuit.

2020 Tesla Model 3 Electric for sale

The 2020 Model 3 lease deal can cost you $1,436/month for 36 months with a downpayment of $5,000 considering an annual range of 10,000 miles.

For budget-oriented buyers, the used 2020 Model 3 can be availed of with a base price of $35,995. Going for older model years like the 2019 Model 3 could be a matter of $34,999 and Tesla Model 3 2018 can cost as much as $32,400 along with a listing of up to 6,564 in total.

Buying Advice

The 2020 tesla model 3 long range price seems to be the most reasonable among all for its balanced power performance and range reach. The interior finish and technology for convenience are also spot on for one to invest.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

Tesla has mildly updated the Model 3 for 2020 by adding versatility to the lineup, with the inclusion of more trims. On the other hand, the 2020 Model 3 comes standard with the Performance package that used to be an optional extra in 2018. The Models have been segregated in terms of the performance and the range they offer and in the drivetrain. The top speed of the Tesla Model S has now gone up to 155 mph while the maximum range is now 330 miles.

Coming on the additional investment one has to incur with the Tesla Model 3 2020 is the maintenance charge of $2,256 for the Standard Range Plus and Long Range trims. This increases further to $2,571 for the Performance trim. While the repair goes to $4,733 for the Long Range and Performance configurations alongside ac depreciation of $25,568 on average across the lineup.

Coming onto the Performance variant, the 2020 Model 3, when equipped with 18-inch alloys, is rated for 322 miles, whereas when equipped with a 20-inch set of wheels, the Model 3 is good for 299 miles. In terms of the competition, aside from Tesla, the Chevrolet Bolt rakes in the best MPG figures, while the BMW i3 follows it the closest.

Interior
4.0/10

We're not exaggerating when we say that the Tesla Model 3 has an interior unlike any other car on the market today - Car and Driver

The 2020 Tesla Model 3 Sedan has a flat and low interior floor which gives an airy and spacious feel inside. The front seats are very comfortable and supportive although the rear seat suffers from the lack of thigh support and the low bottom cushion leads to an uncomfortable experience. The flat leather seats are broad and are not hard. The seat adjustments are quite simple to manage and are very effective. The cabin of the Model 3 is enchantingly silent, as there is no engine noise to hinder your peace of mind. The only clamor that may get to your ears at times is the sound of the wheels trying to find their way through some broken or bumpy street.

The 2020 Tesla Model 3 Sedan along with the Kia Niro and the Chevrolet Bolt has a passenger capacity of 5 while the BMW i3 houses only 4 passengers. As for the front row headroom, the Kia Niro takes the spotlight while the Tesla and the BMW share the lowest figures. However, Tesla manages to climb back up with generous legroom while the BMW still suffers. When we go to the second row, the Chevrolet impresses with the most spacious headroom and legroom, while the BMW continues to suffer in these aspects as well.

The 2020 Tesla Model 3 Sedan comes with a 15 cu. ft trunk that can be as spacious as a hatchback. It is wide and broad and also has a secret deep well under the floor of the cargo area. The rear seats when folded flat increase the cargo space significantly. The Model 3 sedan's trunk is as extensive as some competitive performance hatch and offers ample space for luggage sufficient for a weekend getaway.

Exterior
6.0/10

The look is stark, depending on how baroque your tastes run, it is either entirely too plain or clean and conservative - The Car Connection

The 2020 Tesla Model 3 Sedan enjoys fairly massive exterior dimensions and it just amplifies its presence on the road. The design of the EV sedan is futuristic but it still manages to look conventional from every angle. The LED DRLs and the Tesla logo, followed by the long hood do make you realize that the Model 3 is a Tesla from far upfront. It is a good-looking set of wheels from all angles and doesn't make you feel ambiguous when you take it to your child's school or to the market.

The 2020 Tesla Model 3 Sedan boasts to be the longest, widest, and has the largest wheelbase along with being the shortest in height among the others. The BMW i3 is the lightest among the four, and is also short in length and has the least wheelbase. The Kia Niro has fairly balanced dimensions meanwhile the Chevrolet Bolt other than being one of the heaviest in the group is also the tallest and least wide.

Competition
6.0/10

2020 Tesla Model 3 vs. 2020 BMW i3

The BMW i3 is reputed as a unique and unconventional electric car. The carbon fiber and aluminum structure of the BMW derives its energy from the 170 horsepower electric motor and has an optional 184 horsepower electric motor allotted to its i3s trim sporty version which has phenomenal driving dynamics and great suspension.

In comparison to the 2020 Tesla Model 3 Sedan, the BMW offering puts up lower power figures, lags both in acceleration and braking front, and does require quite a lot of refinement to own up to the 2020 Model 3.

2020 Tesla Model 3 vs. 2020 Chevrolet Bolt EV

The quick and exciting Chevrolet Bolt is really worth its value, thanks to its floor-mounted battery powering its electric motor and generating a horsepower of 200. It has a range of 190 miles in a single charge. The acceleration is great and it drives significantly well over rough terrains. The Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatible infotainment system has a 10.2-inch touch screen and an additional 8-inch digital gauge are eye-catching interior features.

Up against the 2020 Tesla Model 3 Sedan, the engine is less powerful yet decent, the acceleration suffers a little and so does the braking. It does have a larger cargo space and hence, all these factors make it the only tough competition to the Tesla Model 3.

Final Verdict

The Tesla Model 3 became the benchmark of Electric Sedans when it first came to the market in 2017. With constant and regular updates, Tesla has been adding value to the Model 3 in successive years. The 2020 Model 3 is a testimony to the same fact, as it comes bundled with a whole host of safety features and technology as standard. With the starting price of just $39,990 and with the help of Tesla's Supercharger networks, the 2020 Tesla Model 3 has sure become more attractive than ever and is certainly one of the best alternatives to the soon to be extinct Gas-powered cars, available on sale in the US today.
