Overview

The 2016 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab is a prominent contender in the midsize pickup truck segment. The Toyota Tacoma Double Cab competes against the GMC Canyon Extended Cab, the Nissan Frontier King Cab, and the Chevrolet Colorado Extended Cab. Prices start off at an MSRP of $24,490 with the base SR trim and reach all the way to the top Limited trim carrying an MSRP of $38,180, for a total of 4 trims being offered. The Toyota Tacoma Double Cab offers 2 exciting powertrains, each offered as both a rear-wheel drive and a 4-wheel drive. The base engine is a 2.7L Inline-4 capable of making 159 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. This engine is rated for a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. The second engine is a larger 3.5L V6 making 278 horsepower and carrying a maximum towing capacity of 6,500 pounds. There are two transmissions, a 6-speed manual, and a 6-speed automatic.
