The 2019 Nissan Titan is a solid attempt to dethrone the American giants sitting atop the full-size pickup truck segment. The truck gets very good customer feedback in its current generation with not many complaints (as per pickup truck standards). The Titan gets a reliability rating of 83/100 which is on par with the segment leaders like the Toyota Tundra, the GMC Sierra 1500, and the Chevrolet Silverado 1500.

The most common complaint with Nissan Titan comes from its electrical system. People have also complained about some transmission niggles and problems. The truck has also been recalled 4 times already. The Youtube video by "MaxTheCarGuy" shares our opinions in this regard as well. Check out the video below to get to know about all the common 2019 Titan problems and read ahead to find out if it is worth buying.

2019 Nissan Titan Problems

Electrical issues:

  • Nissan Connect issues: The 2019 Titan owners have repeatedly complained about issues with the Nissan Connect system in the truck. People have reported complete malfunction of the system while driving. In some cases, the system automatically reboots and freezes. There have been frequent disconnections from smartphones, be it Bluetooth or Apple CarPlay/Android Auto.
  • Backup camera issues: People have reported the backup camera of the truck freezing and not displaying any rearward visual. Although the sensors were working properly, no visual affected rearward visibility. The Japanese manufacturer has issued a recall with NHTSA Campaign Number 19V654000.

Mechanical issues:

  • Transmission delay: People have observed a considerable delay when accelerating from a standstill. Though not an issue per se, this has resulted in several close calls while overtaking. Sometimes this delay in gearshifting causes the motor to rev unnecessarily and wears out the clutch.
  • Engine knocking sounds: Some people have reported the Titan to make engine knocking sounds at just 30,000 miles. A visit to the dealership says the sound is common in the available engines but the owners feel otherwise.
  • Noisy brakes: The 2019 Titan has accumulated many complaints regarding a grinding noise coming from the brakes. The brakes are also said to wear out excessively at very low mileage. Some owners had to get their brake setups replaced but the issue persisted.

Should you buy the 2019 Nissan Titan?

The 2019 Nissan Titan is a superb offering and provides good competition to the domestic players. It is a solid truck and has a lot of electrical issues, especially with the infotainment system. The engine knocking sound has been reported to the carmaker and a response is awaited. Along with this, there are 4 recalls showing a swift action from the manufacturer. If you’re looking for a Nissan Titan for sale, buying a new 2019 model year will be wiser. The older model years have been more troublesome and the new model year has been a boon for the buyers.
