Overview
The 2018 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT Coupe is a midsize coupe offered in 2 trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $112,400. For that price, it mainly competes with the less luxurious Nissan GT-R Coupe, the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS coupe, and the more expensive Audi R8 Coupe. Between 2 trims, the AMG GT offers a single powertrain with different outputs. The base engine is a 4.0L Twin-Turbo V8 capable of making 469 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. If more power is required, the same engine also puts out 515 horsepower. Regardless of the output, the engine is mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The AMG GT reaches 60 mph from zero in 3.9 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 3.7 seconds with the higher output. With either output, the AMG GT manages a combined fuel economy of 18 mpg. While we're on the topic of choices, the 11 striking colors the AMG GT comes in really pull you towards itself.
