The buyers of full-size luxury SUVs usually prefer a vehicle that has the ability to go anywhere without providing any discomfort for passengers. That’s why Land Rover has manufactured the Range Rover with a starting price of $39,490 equipped for providing seats to 5 passengers.

Available in HSE, Westminster Edition, Autobiography Edition, Autobiography, and SV Autobiography Dynamic Edition, the base model of the Range Rover is the P360 4dr SUV with an AWD option. Despite its incredible comfort, the Range Rover faces tough competition from the Lincoln Navigator with a base price of $76,710 followed by the Lexus LX 570 with $86,930 and the Maserati Levante with beginning price of $79,400.

However, when the sales volume of the vehicle is considered, the vehicle has a record of selling 17,285 units in the respective year, which is immensely higher than the Maserati Levante with a sales volume hitting 449 units only.

Even after having a good popularity, Range Rover somehow compromises its acceptance due to 1 recall and 2 complaints issued against it on the NHTSA website. Apart from that, faulty seat belts retractor is another serious concern in the Range Rovers, along with the troubling AEB system that fails to run the forward collision avoidance system properly.

Electrical Issues

  • Faulty sensors increasing the chances of car crash

On multiple occasions it has been seen that the electrical sensors stop functioning properly causing inconvenience to the drivers by affecting the forward collision avoidance and AEB system. Due to faulty sensors when the AEB software stops working it might not be possible for the vehicle’s intelligent speed control feature to avoid forward collision triggering chances of crashing or ramming any object or moving vehicle at the front.

Mechanical and Engine Issues

  • Compressor pump failure

Compressor pump failure is a common problem noted by maximum Range Rover owners. Faulty air pump suspension failure might affect the entire air pump suspension system of the vehicle by stopping the vehicle driver to drive it too far. Moreover, faulty air suspension causes leakage in the air pipes deprive the vehicle by preventing it from moving far.

  • Chronic engine problems

Maximum Range Rover owners have encountered serious problems with their car engines. The majority of users have complained about cars getting overheated after triggering frequent engine failures. Sometimes fixing those issues might require changing the eat timing chains and manifold woes which might be quite pricey at times.

Should You Buy a 2021 Range Rover?

The Range Rover is much known for being a touring vehicle suitable for on and off-road performances, capable to break any obstacle by rolling over it. However, the faulty electrical AEB system and problematic car engine did put the reputation of the car under question for some time. However, Land Rover had already addressed these issues and asked the dealers to replace the faulty parts and repair those if needed free of cost, by making the 2021 Range Rover free from every threat and concern which were a challenge to the brand reputation of the vehicle.

So, technically, if someone is looking ahead to purchase the vehicle, in our opinion it’s important to examine whether the car has been replaced and repaired with all those faulty features for which the recall was registered. If they’re revived completely, then it's always advisable to take the call, if the resale price tag suits the individual’s budget.
