Part of the fullsize pickup truck segment, the 2014 GMC Sierra 3500HD Regular Cab competes with the RAM 3500 Regular Cab, the Chevy Silverado 3500 HD Regular Cab, and the Ford F-350 SuperDuty Regular Cab. A base price of MSRP of $32,805 gets you a 6.0L V8 engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Despite the price going up to $40,645, this single powertrain is found in both trims available. This engine produces 360 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, achieving a 0-60 of 8.5 seconds, and is offered as both RWD and 4WD. The GMC Sierra 3500HD Regular Cab offers a single 8 feet cargo bed with a payload capacity of 4,609 pounds. It also offers a healthy towing capacity of 13,000 pounds.

Buying Advice

It is evident that the base trim is quite bare bones and can be used only as a workhorse. There, we recommend upgrading to the SLE which adds alloy wheels, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, heated mirrors, keyless entry, cloth seats, driver-side lumbar adjustments, and a few other comfort features.
