I contacted Dodge/SRT customer service about the severe and dangerous malfunctions this vehicle is continuing to experience, and I contacted management of the local Reno Dodge dealership as well, and have requested a buyback on this vehicle, since it is obviously not reliable or safe to drive. If you have never experienced losing power steering on a newer vehicle, it is hair raising and super scary, as the wheelRead More

The popularity of Dodge for designing some of the best midsize SUVs is suitably justified whenever the Dodge Durango is noticed. The car’s popularity is one of the main reasons behind its global acceptance. Starting with a base price of $31,995, the car is a suitable pick for its close rivals like the Honda Pilot, Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade

The Durango’s reputation for selling 65,935 units in 2021 was a major kickback for some of the rival brands of Dodge. Inspite of proving its outstanding market reputation the car’s problematic warning lights along with the faulty power lift-gate functionality was a serious concern with the car’s publicity. Apart from these, the car’s rear ball bearing bolt issue also bothered the Durango owners significantly, due to which the NHTSA website had to register 5 recall rate against the car’s reliability along with 28 complaints.

Electrical Problems

  • Issue with the warning lights

Users have complained about malfunctioning warning lights while the vehicle’s rear spoiler detaches from the car body causing a loud noise. Such notifications might help a driver to follow back if something detaches from the car body part. Fault in the electrical circuit board may sometimes deprive the warning lights to respond during such instances, which needs to be taken care of.

Structural Problems

  • Issue with the rear spoiler

A number of users have found issues with the rear spoiler of Dodge Durango. Such issues include frequent loosening of rear spoiler screws, leading to the detachment of the spoilers from the vehicle even if it is at low speed, say for example 60MPH. Such instances may lead to road hazards triggering crashes for those vehicle drivers coming at high speed, especially on the highways. Therefore these issues need to be resolved.

  • Faulty power liftgate issue

Problematic liftgate preventing users to access the liftgate by denying recoil while an obstruction is met, is a common scenario in the Dodge Durango. Such instances may stop the liftgate from functioning properly while it needs to close. Sometimes it might not reverse back on finding any obstruction and rather recoil backward even if there’s a child’s hand or pet’s paw causing such obstruction due to ignorance. When that happens it may increase the injury risk for the victim. Such issues may show up when the rear liftgate sensors cannot detect any obstruction whenever it encounters or faces any, causing the inconvenience. These issues need to be addressed and reconciled as soon as possible.

Miscellaneous Problems

  • Reliability issues

Some users have found reliability issues after purchasing Durango on finding that the sport hood has not been delivered instead the SUV was delivered with a different roof. The same user complained about tracing the crimped rubber parts alongside the driver’s seat of the rear passenger door, questioning the reliability issue of the brand, as the user claimed that the car does not appear to be too old.

Should you Prefer Buying the 2021 Dodge Durango?

There’s no reason to deny the market reputation of Durango that helped the car’s sales record to to hit an outstanding figure by surpassing some of its known competitor brands. However, a few complaints raised about the vehicle’s  publicity did question its market value for the respective year. But the brand, did take action for resolving the issues by asking the dealership to repair and replace every problems that the Durango owners had complained about the vehicle’s loyalty.

Eventually, that helped the brand to reagan its resale market value amongst the targeted customers.

So, if someone is willing to purchase a 2021 Dodge Durango that’s free from every issues that the car had earlier, we don’t find any reason to stop them from not buying an old Durango at all, except paying a visit to the resale price tag of the car for once. If the resale price comes within the budget we would always ask the respective buyers to initiate the deal soon.
