Bentayga, the behemoth of a car from the stable of Bentley is one of the most premium SUVs available in the market, if not the most premium SUV. The British manufacturer made sure that no stone remains unturned to satisfy its buyers in terms of safety, luxury, and opulence, well almost. The mighty Bentayga sells for a starting price of $165,000. It does cost one a fortune, but then it's a Bentley after all. Boasting mighty muscular looks, a tall and stout stance, a powerful 6.0L W12 engine, this beast is a feast to the eyes and solace to the mind. Its competitors hail from big brands as well; it gets tough competition from Lamborghini Urus, Rolls Royce Cullinan and Mercedes Maybach GLS 600.

This juggernaut is almost seventeen feet long and six and a half feet wide, that's almost as wide as a Hummer H2. However, considering the price tag, the shameless and reckless reuse of parts like buttons and dials from an entry-level Audi and Porsche Panamera is not expected (the extravagant tow hook and toolkit pouch bear the Audi tag). Also, one can't use the third-row seating and carry the spare wheel at the same time. Speaking of complaints and issues, as per the NHTSA, it has 3 cases of recalls.

Engine and Mechanical Complaints

Engine: Bentleys are meticulously handcrafted to perfection but an unfortunate issue in the fuel line quick connecter present in the engine compartment led to a fuel leak. Bentley investigated the problem and quickly issued a recall for the affected vehicles; a free replacement for the fuel line and connector was offered.
Brakes: Clicking noises in the braking system is another widely highlighted issue with Bentleys.
Suspension: It has a complicated air suspension system that needs regular checks and tuning for longer life.

Safety Complaints

Seat Belts: It is unlikely for Bentley to cut corners in terms of safety. But a manufacturing error led to issues with third-row upper seat belt attachment. A recall was issued for the said matter and the upper seat belt attachment bolt has been replaced free of charge.
Airbags: Another problem in safety is related to side curtain airbags which may not properly inflate during a crash. However, the number of affected vehicles is limited to just four and they were fixed free of charge through a recall.

Electronics

Infotainment: It has an outdated infotainment unit that is identical to the ones found in less expensive VW branded cars. Bentley could have added a better unit given its exorbitant price tag.
