Competing in the fullsize SUV, the 2024 GMC Yukon SUV goes up against other notable names in the class, like the Chevrolet Tahoe, the Lincoln Navigator, and the Ford Expedition. Spread across 5 trims, the GMC Yukon XL SUV is expected to start at a base price of MSRP of $60,000. Not all the trims are built equal, however, as there are three powertrains on offer. The base engine is a 5.3L V8 rated for 355 horsepower and 383 lb-ft of torque. With this engine, the GMC Yukon SUV gives you a maximum towing capacity of 8,400 pounds. A 420 horsepower-making 6.2L V8 engine is available on the range-topping Denali trim. This engine is capable of towing up to 8,000 pounds. Both engines are mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission. You can also equip the Yukon with a diesel engine which has an engine output of 277 horsepower.
