Overview

The 2015 Volvo XC70 Wagon is a midsize wagon offered in 3 trims, starting off at a base MSRP of $37,100. For that price, it mainly competes with the Audi Allroad Wagon, the smaller BMW 3 Series 328i xDrive Wagon, and the larger Ford Flex Wagon. Between 3 trims, the XC70 offers 3 powertrains. The base engine is a 2.0L turbocharged inline-4 capable of making 240 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. There is also a 240 horsepower and 236 lb-ft-making 3.2L inline-6 engine with standard AWD. The base engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission whereas the inline-6 is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. For more power, there is also the T6 trim that comes with a 3.0L turbocharged inline-6 engine under the hood that generates 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque that comes paired with the 6-speed automatic transmission. The XC70 reaches 60 mph from zero in 8.4 seconds on its base engine, which gets pumped up to 6.8 seconds with the 3.0L inline-6 engine. Depending on the powertrain, the XC70 can manage a combined fuel economy between 20 and 27 mpg. While we’re on the topic of choices, the 9 striking colors the XC70 comes in really pull you towards itself.

Buying Advice

The 2015 Volvo XC70 Wagon is a stylish and practical wagon with multiple powertrains on offer. We recommend getting the base T5 Drive-E trim that comes powered by the new 2.0L base engine. We also recommend opting for the Premier package that adds some extra features to the base trim including a sunroof, leather upholstery, keyless ignition and entry, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and an upgraded instrument cluster display.
