Overview

The 2014 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid Sedan fares well in the compact sedan segment. Adding $12,340 to the price of the standard V6 gasoline variant, the Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid Sedan carries a base price of $25,560 and is offered in a single trim. The engine on service here is a familiar 1.4L Inline-4 engine supported by a 20kW electric motor. Mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission, it makes 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The combined fuel economy improves from 27 MPG on the standard gasoline variant to 45 MPG, making the increase in sticker price worth it. The performance of the Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid Sedan remains at par with the gasoline variant, with the car accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds. Volkswagen offers the same 8 colors for the Jetta Hybrid Sedan. The Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid Sedan competes indirectly with the Ford Fusion Hybrid and the Toyota Camry Hybrid both of which belong to the midsize sedan segment.

              Best car I've ever owned!

Pros - ["Engine performance is surprising. There's notable turbo lag but, when you get used to it.....watch out!", "I have sport seats, not as plush as others but still comfortable enough to feel good after 1000 mi trip to Ca!i", "Good gas mileage and has been very reliable only requiring regular scheduled maintenance"]

Cons - ["This car has only been serviced at the dealership....which is kinda high priced but I have complete records from the day it was bought.", "The interior plastics are everywhere and generally look good, but is really too much. I would like a padded dash.", "There has been no major problems with this car"]

This model Jetta is actually a Sport model. It has the 2.0 turbo and 6 speed auto trans, navigation, phone connectivity with the complete plastic interior package! The seats are sport oriented with good bolsters to keep you in place when cornering hard. I have thoroughly enjoyed this car! It has been very reliable and has performed beyond my expectations.

              No More VW for me!

Pros - ["Bluetooth connectivity was awesome for my music devices!", "The blue color is pretty not too blue or overpowering yet still pretty and unique!"]

Cons - ["The immobilizer is a feature forgein car manufacturers need to remove from thier vehicles!", "The engine sucks! Oh and don't think you have spark plugs oh no it has coils, which after getting mine changed cost me $500!"]

I got this car around 2017/2018! I originally loves this car, it has bluetooth so I can connect my music devices; however it's so slow to connect. As a result of owning this vehicle it has completely turned me against Volkswagen and Audi. My immobilizer was activated after my battery died; nope the VW dealership were of no assistance, and due to it being a foreign car I can't find a mechanic will...

              Very smart and understanding car

Pros - ["It's hybrid", "It's good on gas"]

Cons - ["Makes weird noise", "It's black"]

The lifespan of a Volkswagen Jetta can vary, but with proper maintenance and care, they can be pretty resilient. On average, a Jetta can last between 200,000 to 250,000 miles. This means if you drive around 15,000 miles per year, which is pretty standard, your Jetta could be cruising the roads for about 13 to 17 years.
