The Nissan Armada has been a faithful and more comfortable alternative to the rugged Titan pickup yet the former has been facing the heat from superior rivals. Being sold as a workhorse that can tow as much as 9,100 lbs, the 2014 Nissan Armada boasts surprising reliability with a negligible number of complaints and recalls. The 2013 Armada’s reliability scorecard is commendable too, showing that the Japanese brand has got the basics sorted. The current model of the Armada sees complaints regarding its structure, airbags, steering, powertrain, and brakes. The one recall for the airbag system is unrelated to the complaint filed for the airbag malfunction against the current model. In the segment, the SUV rivals the Toyota Sequoia, the Chevrolet Tahoe, and the Ford Expedition. The "Peter L" faced a no-start condition with some engine cranking issues which were further solved. The report states that the tailgate opened independently on multiple occasions while driving. Moreover, the dashboard of the vehicle also gave out warning sounds but no warning signs were visible on the instrument cluster. Safety problems
- Airbag warning light: This problem was brought forward by an owner after he took his Armada in for a recall repair. Should you buy a used Nissan Armada?
The Nissan Armada still rules the segment in terms of sheer towing capabilities and ruggedness. It also gets the interior part right with adequate comfort levels and an appealing design as well. However, all the luxury parts end just there and the vehicle is prone to substantial vertical movements while going over bad patches of road. With its maximum seating capacity of 8 occupants, the SUV proves to be a worthy workhorse for those residing up in the mountains. Moreover, the reliability aspect of the SUV goes hand-in-hand with the vehicle’s traits and a used example makes great sense too. While opting for one, look out for the power steering leakage.
