For the sake of variety and to show the world its true potential, Toyota is all set to reveal its Century-based SUV under the Chauffeur Series of cars. There is no official information about the car and we made speculations based on the teased images. This can be the first time the whole world can witness the true capability of the brand, as the SUV might be released globally, unlike the Japan-only Century sedan.
Upcoming Toyota Century SUV Poised to Rival The Rolls Royce Cullinan

There are many car manufacturers around the world that are known for their quality and craftsmanship, however for a long time Toyota is still the benchmark to beat. Toyota, although has a luxury sub-brand in the form of Lexus, still makes the Toyota Century to depict what they are capable of, and today we are going to the luxury side of Toyota as they have recently teased their upcoming Century-based SUV which is all set to be launched on September 6.

Known as the Rolls-Royce of Japan, Toyota made this full-size luxury saloon for the Japanese market exclusively for the upper-class people and was infamously loved by the Yakuza. Toyota has announced the reveal of a Century-based SUV to be revealed on their YouTube channel which you find mentioned below. The manufacturer has not named the car yet, however, we can confirm from the pictures that it will be the most luxurious offering from the Toyota’s Chauffeur series.

In the teaser, we can see the chauffeur holding the rear door handle of the SUV. The teased car was painted in the signature “Kamui” color, which means “Eternal Black” in English. The design ethos looks very similar to the Rolls Royce Cullinan, including the strong D pillar and dropping character line. The teaser images also reveal the split LED headlights with a prominent grille holding the Century emblem.

The manufacturer announced the expansion of their Century series in June, during the presentation of the Alphard and Vellfire minivans. The only word stated by Toyota’s Chief Branding Officer, Mr. Simon Hemphries was “The Toyota Century is the ultimate chauffeur experience but it will have to evolve as we move towards the future. And later in the year, I hope to have a chance to share the outcome of the story in addition to Toyota’s chauffeur series. It will certainly be an impressive step in our mission to change the future of cars.”

This shows that Toyota identified the elevated demand for luxury SUVs, which we can see with the success of the Lamborghini Urus, Bently Benteyga, and Rolls Royce Cullinan. The rumors suggest that the Century SUV could feature the TNGAK architecture from Toyota and Lexus. It will be exclusively available with a V8 engine under the hood and speculations also say that Toyota will use the already developed plug-in-hybrid system from Lexus.

With that said, the upcoming Century SUV is launching on their global platform, which is giving us a hint that it will be available on the global market, unlike the sedan which has been exclusively reserved for Japan since its inception.
