The Ram ProMaster has been a solid contender in the utility van segment and while being a bit late to the party, it is all set to be electrified the ProMaster EV will be taking on the segment giants Ford Transit and Mercedes-Benz's eSprinter. Well, the ProMaster has some tricks up its sleeves that should set it apart.
2024 Ram ProMaster EV Comes With 162 Miles of Range
Jumping right to the details, the ProMaster Electric Van will offer up to five different configurations which will be including two roof heights, two cargo lengths, and two body styles which include the delivery van version and cargo van version. Moving on to performance, the ProMaster EV will be able to churn out 268 hp and 302 lb-ft of torque with front-wheel drive as standard. The van will come standard with a 110-kWh battery pack and will allow for Level 2 charging as well as Level 3 DC fast charging. Some exterior features worth noticing are the standard LED headlights and foglights and standard 16-inch steel wheels.
Despite being a commercial EV offering the upcoming ProMaster EV will come with creature comforts like a heated steering wheel, a heated windshield, and advanced telematics that will enable drivers to plan their route for the shortest delivery times, conserving the already limited range in the process.
2024 Ram ProMaster EV Availability
However, it is to be noted that only the delivery van version is available to order at the moment. The cargo van version of the Ram ProMaster EV will be available for purchase sometime in the year 2025. As for the delivery van, it comes with a roll-up door that will allow for easy loading. The cargo vans that are about to be released are expected to have a payload capacity of 2030-3020 lbs depending on the variant.
The Ram ProMaster will be putting on a tough fight against its competitors. While the other vans in the segment are ahead when it comes to performance, the Ram ProMaster makes it up with a range of 162 miles which should be enough for last-mile operations.
