The 2024 Lotus Eletre EV To Get Over 905 HP

Lotus has provided the public with more information about its electric SUV, the Eletre. The 2024 Lotus Eletre will be available in three different trims. All of them come with the same twin-motor all-wheel drive system that produces either 603 or 905 horsepower depending on the trim.

The Eletre will hit the streets in 2024, and it has a starting price of $84,500. The information that has been revealed by Lotus about the Eletre is for the European markets only, with information for the US market scheduled to come out at a later date. Once released, the Lotus Eletre will compete against the recently revealed BMW XM.

The base and S models will use two equally powerful motors, one at each end, to produce a combined system output of 602 horsepower and 523 pound-feet.

The R replaces the rear 301-hp engine with a 603-hp one that is substantially more powerful and has a two-speed gearbox that functions similarly to that of the Porsche Taycan 4S and Turbo in theory.

The R's maximum output of 905 horsepower and 726 pound-feet makes it the quickest dual-motor EV SUV in the world, according to Lotus.

The R has a top speed of 165 mph and can accelerate to 62 mph in 2.95 seconds. On the other hand, the weaker Eletre and Eletre S take 4.5 seconds to go from 0-60 mph.

According to Lotus, the single-speed SUV will have a range of up to 373 miles. The maximum range for the powerful Eletre R is 309 miles. Each and every trim of the 2024 Lotus Eletre uses the same 112-kilowatt-hour battery, which can be quickly charged from 10% to 80% capacity in 20 minutes.

While much of the development work was done at Raunheim in Germany, the Eletre will be manufactured in Wuhan, China. All models will feature adjustable air springs and adaptive dampers, and the Eletre R will also have an active anti-roll system. At least some variants will also come with carbon-ceramic brakes.

The company will let customers choose from six different interiors for the SUV. Additionally, Lotus will employ synthetic fibers for the cargo liner and carpets in the interior as well as eco-friendly alternatives to leather. The substance is completely recyclable and reprocessed.

Six exterior hues—Natron Red, Galloway Green, Stellar Black, Kaimu Gray, Blossom Gray, and Solar Yellow—will be available when the Eletre comes out, and according to Lotus, more colors will be available soon after the launch. Besides that, there will be six caliper color options and five different wheel designs in 20-, 22-, and 23-inch sizes.

The Eletre has been put through testing by Lotus at the Nurburgring, and Lotus expects it to meet its performance goals. The manufacturer also disclosed that it is developing technologies that would enable the Eletre to navigate the renowned track on its own.

Lotus has confirmed pricing for the US market, but the pricing they have revealed is for major European markets. The base model will cost the equivalent of $84,500 in the UK, followed by the S at $98,500 and the R at $113,000. The Eletre will be released in the US in 2024, so we can expect more information for the US version of the Lotus Eletre to come out next year.
