Coming with a single powertrain for all trims, the 2024 Equinox mounts a turbocharged 1.5L 4-cylinder under the hood, making 175 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque, while being coupled with a six-speed automatic. Configured with FWD, the '24 Equinox drives moderately well, high efficiency, and overall good grip. All-wheel drive is also available, however, the standard edition seems planted on roads even at a good speed. In terms of performance, the Equinox is not particularly exciting. It takes a heavy foot to hustle it up to highway speeds, and the transmission can be hesitant to downshift when extra power is needed. However, the Equinox handles and rides well, making it a comfortable and capable daily driver.

Priced at $30,890, the Equinox LT is the most popular trim of the SUV, offering a range of features. But we think that the RS is well-proportioned when it comes to value. This sporty Equinox not only makes the more attractive and aggressive but the overall offering also is quite good, with features like blind-spot monitoring, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a power liftgate, rear cross-traffic alert, and remote start. With $1.5K more than LT for both FWD & AWD, the 2024 Chevy Equinox RS offers a lot for the price paid.
