Jaguar Set To End The Production of the F-Type After 2024

The Jaguar F-Type is a true representation of the brand's sporting heritage, offering a blend of dynamic performance and head-turning design. The F-Type's lightweight aluminum architecture and powerful engine options make it a formidable force on the road.

The F-Type boasts an aggressive and athletic stance, with clean lines and flowing curves that create a sense of motion even when standing still. Its plush interior and latest tech features provide a comfortable driving experience. Meanwhile, the loaded driving assistance features ensure that the driver and the passengers are stress-free regarding their safety.

However, the F-Type has some flaws too. Its stiff ride quality and noisy cabin put off many Jaguar lovers. Nonetheless, the F-Type has enjoyed great success since its launch in 2014. However, both coupe and convertible models of the Jaguar F-Type are now getting off the production line after 2024 due to several reasons. From 2025, Jaguar intends to revamp its model range and go all-electric. Since the demand for EVs is soaring. Furthermore, the emissions norms are also getting stricter.

Hence, 2024 will be the last model year buyers will be able to bring the pure gas engine-powered F-Type home. That said, Jaguar is celebrating its 75th anniversary and sending off the F-Type at the same time in 2023. Hence, some special edition trim grades such as 75 or R 75. These trims will be offered with unique interior and exterior elements along with an optional Giola Green metallic color.

The 2024 Jaguar F-TYPE comes in Coupe and Convertible body styles which are given in a total of 3 trim levels. The F-Type Coupe has a base price of $77,900 whereas the F-Type Convertible model is priced at $79,900. The entry-level R-Dynamic and mid-range 75 trim come with a P450 engine. It is a 5.0L Supercharged V8 setup attached to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The standard 450 engine makes 444 horsepower and 428 lb-ft of torque. With this output, the Jaguar F-Type goes from 0 to 60 MPH in 4.4 seconds. For more power, the P575 engine is offered in R75 trim

The same 5.0L Supercharged V8 in R75 is able to put out 575 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. This increased output reduced the 0-60 MPH acceleration time by 0.9 seconds. Furthermore, unlike the base R-Dynamic trim which has a rear-wheel drive system, the 75 and R75 have an all-wheel drive system. Lastly, the Jaguar F-Type offered a combined fuel economy between 18 MPG and 19 MPG.

The base R-Dynamic comes with 20-inch wheels, an active exhaust system, leather and suede cloth upholstery, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel covered in leather, a 10-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, a navigation system, a 10-speaker Meridian Sound System, lane keeping assist, cruise control, blind spot assist, parking sensors, and more.

As you climb the trim ladder, the 75 trim brings some changes such as ventilated front seats, a limited edition aluminum instrument panel finisher, upgraded upholstery, silver gearshift paddles, front fender discreet badges, and Interior Black Pack. Meanwhile, the top-ranking R75 is blessed with all mentioned features but it also has an extended leather upgrade, red brake calipers, and R branded leather steering wheel.

Some of the competent rivals which dare to challenge the Jaguar F-TYPE include the Lexus RC F, the Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, the Porsche 718 Cayman, the Porsche 718 Boxster, and the BMW Z4. Each of these competitors has its own traits. However, the F-Type truly stands out as a unique, bold, and daring sports car with an old mechanical feel that is perfect for those seeking a thrill behind the wheel.
