Lucid got into the electric vehicle business with the release of the Lucid Airsedan in late 2021. Now, they have revealed their first electric SUV, the Lucid Gravity. The Gravity will have Air-derived technology, and according to the company, it will offer performance that can rival a supercar while having more range than any other EV on the market (excluding their own cars).
The Lucidity will go on sale in 2023, with the first deliveries scheduled to be made in 2024. Once released, it will take on the likes of the Tesla Model X, Volvo EX90, and Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV. For now, Lucid has shared a series of teaser images that give us a first look at how it looks. The styling of the Gravity is instantly recognizable because it has the same distinct roofline as the Air.

We anticipate the Gravity to be about five meters long, and the boxy rear end should allow plenty of headroom for those in the back. The Gravity will be available with either five, six, or seven-seat configurations. The middle row of the six-seat variant will feature two reclining seats that resemble lounge furniture.
With a steeply sloped windscreen that reaches deep into the bonnet to lower air pressure at its base, the Gravity has been clearly optimized to reduce drag. Given that the SUV will ride on the same LEAP pure-electric platform as the Air and that the front overhang is very small, we anticipate that the front boot will be roughly as spacious as its sedan equivalent.

According to Lucid, the Gravity is built on the company’s core DNA of luxury, spaciousness, performance, and efficiency. Because of this, we expect that it will be powered by the same small, 670-horsepower electric motor assemblies and 22-module underfloor battery pack.
In addition, Lucid promises "supercar performance," which strongly means they will sell a near-1,000-horsepower dual-motor version or an SUV version of the 1200+-horsepower tri-motor Air Sapphire sedan. With these claims, it's most certain that the Gravity will come with the Air’s larger 112.0-kWh battery pack.

In a segment where buyers are almost certainly less likely to favor rear-wheel drive, it is also likely that all Gravity SUVs will come with all-wheel drive. Another claim that Lucid makes is that the Gravity will deliver more range than any other EV outside of its own Air. This suggests a possible range in the low- to mid-400s. However, Lucid has not confirmed any of these claims.
The cabin's overall layout is anticipated to be quite similar to that of the Air's, with the addition of triple-screen infotainment technology from Lucid. However, it is unclear that the SUV would go to an entirely digital dashboard, presumably retaining a mix of traditional and touchscreen controls.

The interior of the Gravity might come with a variety of full-grain leather, fabric, and wood accents, and the company's signature ambient lighting strip, which is built into the windshield's central spine, will be present and functional. These teaser images suggest that, in contrast to the Air, the Gravity will forgo conventional sun visors in favor of perhaps using photochromic glass.

According to Lucid, the Gravity configurator will open in the first quarter of 2023, at which time more information regarding the pricing and the exact specifications of the car will be made available. They also revealed that the Gravity will be produced at the AMP-1 factory in Casa Grande, Arizona, where the Lucid Air is also made. The first customer cars will be delivered in 2024.
