GMC has revealed the 2024 Sierra EV for the first time, and it will be the first EV Denali in their lineup. Expected to go on sale in early 2024, the GMC Sierra EV Denali Price range will starting at $107,000.
The first pure-electric products from GMC’s stable were the Hummer EV pickup and its SUV variant. They came with an insane amount of power and acceleration, alongside weird and useful features like the CrabWalk.
The goal of the 2024 GMC Sierra EV was to create a more affordable and accessible product that could compete with the likes of the Rivian R1T, Ford F-150 Lightning, the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV, and the Toyota Tacoma EV. This means a flexible price range, usable power figures, a decent range, and practicality. And it seems like GMC has nailed these areas with the 2024 Sierra EV so far—or did they?
Power output and range of the 2024 GMC Sierra EV
The 2024 Sierra EV’s estimated numbers were released by GMC, and they suggest that the electric pickup truck will have somewhere close to 754 hp and 785 lb-ft of torque. This will allow the Sierra EV to reach 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. Even though it is based on the same Ultimum platform as the Hummer EV models, the Sierra EV’s power figures are significantly lower, and so is the 0-60 time.

The plus side is an additional 50-mile range for the GMC Sierra EV, giving a total range of 400 miles on one charge. However, features like four-wheel steering, including CrabWalk, and Air Ride adjustable ride height are available in all the EVs from GMC till now.
In terms of charging, it can acquire a range of 100 miles in just 10 minutes if you charge it through an 800-watt DC fast charger. For charging support, GMC will offer its customers access to its 100,000+ Ultimum Charge 360 charging point network spread across North America, including Canada.
Drive modes, towing and payload capacity of 2024 Sierra EV
Even though battery capacity has not been revealed yet for the 2024 GMC Sierra EV, GMC will offer several drive modes and efficiency tools to use energy as per your needs. The EV propulsion system comes with regenerative braking on demand and one-pedal driving.

The Sierra EV has five drive modes: Standard, Tow/Haul, Off-Road, Max Power, and, last but not least, My Mode. In “My Mode”, you can fully customize the steering, suspension, propulsion, sound, and power setup according to your preference.
GMC claims that the 2024 Sierra EV will have a maximum towing capacity of 9500 lbs and a payload capacity of 1300 lbs.
Exterior and interior design of the 2024 Sierra EV
Outside, the GMC Sierra EV looks pretty similar to its 2024 gas-fed sibling. However, being an EV, it carries certain different elements over its ICE counterpart, such as a clean front fascia without any grille, headlamp extensions toward the center, and perimeter grille lighting. The bed is a 5-foot 11-inch unit that can be extended to 9 feet by folding the rear seats and using the MidGate.

A fixed panoramic glass will cover your head, and it is infrared-reflective and UV protected. GMC believes that it will give the occupants a more airy experience in the 2024 Sierra EV. In place of the engine bay, you get a front trunk that is waterproof and lockable.
Inside, GMC treats the 2024 Sierra EV with a 16.8-inch diagonal touchscreen display at the center and a configurable 11-inch driver information display along with a HUD. The central display is the largest unit in the Sierra lineup, and it can operate three different applications at the same time by splitting the screen into three sections.

The dashboard is decorated with a wooden finish and aluminium accents. The wireless charger is finished in a unique open-pore wood that gives it a premium feel. The Denali logo is embroidered on the backs of the front seats, and the rear seats can be folded into a 60/40 ratio. Besides all these, the 2024 Sierra EV will be able to work as a power station itself, with a capacity of up to 10.2 kW, and with proper equipment, it can even charge another EV.
Pricing and Availability of the 2024 GMC Seirra EV
GMC has announced that they will launch the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 as the first variant of the Sierra EV in early 2024 and you can book yours now on their website. They announced an MSRP of $107,000 for this one. All the above-mentioned features will be available in the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 model, along with a standard trailering package.
It’s worth noting that the Denali Edition 1 Sierra EV will be available only in a crew cab body style with an integrated bed and will be assembled in GMC’s Factory Zero Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly in Michigan alongside the Hummer EV.

However, we are also informed that GMC will bring in more variants, including an AT4 variant, and the GMC EV Denali price price will be starting somewhere around $50,000 and will arrive in showrooms by 2025. GMC plans to assemble these variants at its Lake Orion Assembly in Michigan.
Nonetheless, we believe that the expected price tag of $50,000 is likely to increase by 2025 considering the recent EV price increments. One of the biggest recent examples is the Ford F-150 Lightning’s massive $12,000 hike in less than a year.
