This vehicle features a large 28-gallon gas tank, which contributes to its long driving range, which is approximately 450 miles of combined driving on a full tank.

The new Navigator can now charge up to two devices simultaneously with the newly redesigned central console, which includes 2 USB ports for charging electronic devices on the go. Exterior
6.0/10

The redesigned 2011 Lincoln Navigator exterior, with a longer wheelbase, a vehicle body that's 1.7 inches taller, and wider front and rear tracks than its predecessor, it's truly an SUV built for power and size. The exterior design is defined by three prominent horizontal character lines that run the length of the body. They divide it into upper and lower halves with a distinct separation of old and new where the chrome is toned-down and more in line with the other Lincoln vehicles.

The 2011 Lincoln Navigator is undeniably a big vehicle, but it doesn't have to be a pain to park. The new 2011 Navigator features Lincoln's signature 3-bar grille, which has long been synonymous with premium luxury. The hood and front fenders are sculpted to provide a more muscular appearance and offer engineering solutions that reduce weight while increasing strength. From the side, stacked headlights provide a low profile look, while fender-top turn signals visually extend the length of Lincoln's signature c-pillar.

There is no doubt that the Cadillac Escalade is the most compact car among this group of 4, while the others are much longer and wider, and therefore heavier. Lincoln Navigator's ground clearance is the highest, while the Escalade is the lowest. Infiniti QX56 offers the longest wheelbase here as well as the longest car here. A few major exterior features include-

  • HID headlamps w/automatic on/off
  • Chrome-capped heated power fold-away mirrors w/turn signal indicators
  • Auto-dimming side-mirrors
  • Rain-sensing speed-sensitive intermittent windshield wipers
  • Power Liftgate
  • Chrome upper/lower grille
  • 18-inch bright machined aluminum wheels

Safety
8.0/10

For frontal- and side-impact occupant protection, the Navigator received a perfect five-star rating from the NHTSA. As standard on the 2011 Lincoln Navigator, you'll find stability control (with a rollover sensor), traction control, antilock disc brakes with brake assist, front-seat side airbags, and side curtain airbags for all three rows. Under certain conditions, Trailer Sway Control uses stability control sensors to detect and minimize a trailer's tendency to weave. With the 2011 model year, parents can specify the speed limit and stereo volume for their teenage drivers using the programmable MyKey device. Other notable safety features include:

  • Parking sensors
  • AdvanceTrac w/roll stability control
  • Forward sensing system
  • SOS post crash alert
  • Tire Pressure Monitoring System
  • Reverse camera w/sensing system
  • Engine braking and Brake assist
  • Dual-stage driver & front passenger front and seat-mounted side airbags
  • Safety Canopy 1st/2nd/3rd row side curtain airbags

Final Verdict

The 2011 Lincoln Navigator is a traditional three-row SUV that has a long wheelbase, and ample amounts of interior room. Sitting at the top of the Lincoln SUV range, the Navigator protects its passengers from any weather conditions. No matter how wet or dry two of its engines, with more low-end torque than most trucks and SUVs, and a suspension system that grows up to 3 inches when loaded, make sure the road ahead is a smooth ride. With seating for up to 8 passengers, lots of storage areas and plenty of features, this is one of the best SUV's money can buy.
