Overview
Cars like the 2017 Lexus CT 200h might not be able to give you the direct benefits one might expect from its hybrid powertrain. However, its usefulness must not be overlooked. The CT 200h uses its 1.8L Inline-4 engine and an electric motor hybrid system and a 1.31-kWh battery to produce 134 horsepower. This gives the CT 200h a 0-60 of 9.8 seconds. The hybrid engine here is to support the gasoline engine to boost performance and offer slightly better fuel economy than what a single gasoline engine would be capable of. That said, the 2017 CT 200h achieves a combined fuel economy of 42 MPG. As part of the compact hatchback, the CT 200h competes with the Toyota Prius Hybrid and the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid which are cheaper than the CT 200h. Meanwhile, the Audi A3 Sportback e-Tron Hatchback is the plug-in hybrid rival. It offers only one trim that carries an MSRP of $31,250.
