Overview

The world of supercars and hypercars is pushing the limits with every launch. Whatever limit you think will stay there for a while, some manufacturers arrive to break the myth in no time. Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg got established in the hypercar market with its Agera RS. The car when launched was the fastest production car of its time and was able to achieve a top speed of 278 mph. But Koenigsegg did not stop there and they are already here with the successor of the Agera RS.

Koenigsegg launched their new product Jesko as the successor of the Agera RS. The car was named after company CEO Christian von Koenigsegg's father Jesko von Koenigsegg. The automaker has again shown the world that it can still surprise the automotive industry with its excellent engineering and brought a car that packs the world’s most powerful gasoline engine to be fitter in a production car under its hood. The 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko will go against the likes of the 2021 Bugatti Chiron and the 2021 Pagani Huyara Roadster BC.

Buying Advice

The 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko is available in a single-trim configuration. It does not get any package or optional features to add to the car. Instead, you get a plethora of customization options with the Koenigsegg Jesko. You can customize the exterior paint job to the materials and color of the interior. You can customize your Koenigsegg Jesko to make it stand out from the other 124 units of the car. But all the customization might further increase the price of the car which is already high on pricing.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

The 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko is a car that shows the true potential of automotive engineering. The Koenigsegg Jesko is powered by a 5-liter V8 engine that produced 1280 horsepower and can boost the power output to 1603 horsepower on E85 biofuel. The Koenigsegg Jesko can achieve 0 to 60 mph in less than 3 seconds and if you do not take your foot off the gas pedal right after that, you will reach speeds where the surroundings will look like a tunnel to you. The Koenigsegg Jesko can achieve a top speed of over 300 mph which makes it one of the fastest cars in production today.

Features

The 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko comes in a single trim configuration with prices starting from a whopping 3 million dollars. The Koenigsegg Jesko packs in quite a lot of features for the price but most of these features are focused on improving the performance and handling of the Jesko. It is not a comfort-oriented vehicle and you can also get that when you look at the list of standard features. The Koenigsegg Jesko is built from lightweight materials like carbon fiber and gets unique LED headlights. Koenigsegg has also worked on the aerodynamics of the car and has tried its best to keep the weight of the car as low as possible. The interior gets rich materials like premium leather and Alcantara upholstery. You can also customize the interior of the car based on your choice.

Engine and Performance

The engine under the hood of the 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko is the most exciting part of the car. It gets all its power from a twin-turbocharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 1280 horsepower and 1106 lb-ft of torque. The power output from the engine bumps to a maximum of 1603 horsepower if you use the E85 biofuel. The power figures are quite astounding and the same does translate to impressive acceleration figures in the real world. The Koenigsegg Jesko can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds while the quarter-mile timing is not available yet. But the most exciting part is the top speed of the Koenigsegg Jesko which can go all the way up to 300 mph and even more. But you need favorable driving conditions to achieve those crazy speeds. However, it will not keep you asking for more power or performance at any point in time.

The Koenigsegg Jesko does not use a massive 12-cylinder or 16-cylinder engine like its rivals. Instead, it takes a relatively small twin-turbocharged 5-liter V8 engine to produce the insane power figures it packs under its hood. When you use the E85 fuel, the power output from the Koenigsegg Jesko is even more than the Bugatti Chiron. The Bugatti Chiron is slightly quicker than the Koenigsegg Jesko in the 0 to 60 mph sprint but the Koenigsegg Jesko gets a better top speed. The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC also packs good performance under its hood and is not far behind the Jesko in the acceleration runs.

2021 Koenigsegg Jesko Ride and Handling

The Koenigsegg Jesko is a car that is meant for driving on track and that is enough to state the handling performance of the car. The Koenigsegg Jesko uses a carbon-fiber monocoque and the engineers have worked on every small detail to improve the downforce on the car. The aerodynamics of the car help it perform well in terms of handling. It manages to go through the wind with its aerodynamic exterior design and remains stable even at speeds above 300 miles per hour.

The suspension of the Koenigsegg Jesko also gets proper attention. It comes with an advanced triplex suspension system that is pretty capable on road and even on the track. The steering wheel is very precise and offers an impressive feel and feedback. It points the car exactly where the driver wants it to go. The Koenigsegg Jesko is not the most comfortable hypercar for a daily drive like the Koenigsegg Regera. But the enthusiasts will not complain and the handling of the car is spot on.

2021 Koenigsegg Jesko Braking Performance

The Koenigsegg Jesko is a trach-oriented car and you can not expect a track-focused hypercar to come with average braking performance. There is not much data available on the braking hardware used on the Koenigsegg Jesko like the size of the brake rotors or the official stopping distance of the car. But you can see the massive brake rotors on the wheels of the car similar to the size of a family pizza. The feel and feedback from the brakes are also quite impressive. You can conveniently stop the car when required as the wings at the rear also help produce drag while stopping the car.

The Koenigsegg Jesko focuses on keeping the weight of the car low with the use of lightweight materials like carbon fiber. The Koenigsegg Jesko manages to keep the weight of the car close to 3100 pounds which is quite impressive and it obviously helps the braking distance of the car. The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC manages to keep the weight even lighter than the Koenigsegg Jesko. But the stopping distance is not available for either of the cars. The Bugatti Chiron takes 159 feet of stopping distance to bring the car to a complete halt from 70 mph.

Fuel Economy

The Koenigsegg Jesko is a performance car that is meant for fun from behind the wheel. You can not expect good fuel efficiency from any car that packs so much performance under its hood. At the end of the day, you are not going to drive the Koenigsegg Jesko below 60 mph for the sake of efficiency anyway. The Koenigsegg Jesko manages to return 11 mpg in the city, 18 mpg on the highway, and 19 mpg of combined fuel efficiency. The Koenigsegg Jesko comes with a 19 gallons fuel tank capacity. It delivers a maximum highway driving range of 342 miles on a full tank which is quite impressive for the segment.

The Koenigsegg Jesko comes with the smallest capacity engine in the competition even though it can produce the maximum power too. But the small size of the engine and fewer cylinders helps it in the fuel economy department. Although the Koenigsegg Jesko gets the smallest fuel tank capacity in the competition, it manages to deliver the best driving range on the highway as it returns the best mpg figures for the class. The Bugatti Chiron comes with the largest fuel tank capacity but returns the least fuel economy figures. The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC finds the right balance between these cars.

Interior

The 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko comes with a luxurious interior layout both in terms of quality and comfort. The Koenigsegg Jesko gets very supportive sports seats that can accommodate drivers and passengers of different shapes and sizes. It is a little tricky to get inside the cabin but once you get in the car there is ample space to stretch your legs. The quality of the materials in the cabin is top-notch. Everywhere you see and touch as it gets premium materials like high-quality leather, Alcantara, aluminum, glass, and carbon fiber in the cabin. The Koenigsegg Jesko gets plenty of creature comforts which is not common in the segment. You can comfortably get the comfortable driving position. The trunk does not offer much space in there and the Koenigsegg Jesko is not the right choice for carrying luggage.

The Koenigsegg Jesko comes with quite a comfortable seating position. There are multiple creature comforts inside the cabin of the Koenigsegg Jesko for a comfortable drive. The interior dimensions are not available for any of the cars in the competition. The Bugatti Chiron also gets a luxurious interior design. The C-shaped interior layout of the Bugatti Chiron feels quite new even to this date. And it is a cabin that will never feel outdated. The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC gets a more traditional cabin layout with plenty of analog dials and premium materials. None of the cars in the competition are known for excellent practicality.

Standout interior features:

  • Customizable seats
  • Digital instrument cluster
  • Automatic climate control
  • Premium materials like leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber
  • Customizable lighting options
  • Head-up display

2021 Koenigsegg Jesko Infotainment System

The Koenigsegg Jesko is a hypercar that gives priority to performance and luxury You do not get many advanced technology features in the Koenigsegg Jesko. If you are expecting a modern infotainment system that comes loaded with all the entertainment options, the Koenigsegg Jesko is not the right choice for you. The Koenigsegg Regera gets a better infotainment system in comparison to the Jesko but both are very different cars. The Koenigsegg Jesko comes with a very basic infotainment system that gets all the basic features that you will need. It gets a TFT touchscreen display that supports Bluetooth and USB connectivity. There is no Android Auto or Apple CarPlay with the Koenigsegg Jesko.

Standout infotainment features:

  • TFT touchscreen display
  • USB connectivity
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • AM/FM radio
  • Inductive phone charging
  • Premium sound system

Exterior

The Koenigsegg Jesko comes with attractive exterior styling that looks good from every angle. It looks similar to its predecessor Koenigsegg Agera in many ways. But there are many changes in the overall design to give it a different personality altogether. It gets a large splitter at the front that gives it an aggressive stance when you combine it with the lower hood of the car. The side of the car gets beautiful-looking 20-inch wheels at the front and 21-inch wheels at the rear. The wheels are pretty lightweight to ensure that there is no compromise on performance. The rear of the car gets a huge rear wing that not only looks cool but also generates good drag while stopping the car. The Koenigsegg Jesko is a great car for your social media following.

Still, the Bugatti Chiron remains the longest car in the competition. The width of Bugatti Chiron and the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC have similar widths and both of them are wider than the Koenigsegg Jesko. The Koenigsegg Jesko also comes with the longest wheelbase in the competition. The Bugatti Chiron on the other hand gets the shortest wheelbase and is also the heaviest of the lot. The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC is the lightest car in the competition.

Standout exterior features:

  • 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels
  • LED headlights with LED DRLs
  • Diagonal wrap-around windshield
  • Carbon fiber wheels
  • Active suspension
  • Gull-wing doors

Safety

The Koenigsegg Jesko is a limited-production car and only 125 units of the car will be produced for global sales. Each unit of the Koenigsegg Jesko costs more than 3 million dollars. It is not a surprise why any agencies like the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) will not have the courage to crash such an expensive and rare car to check its safety ratings. The Koenigsegg Jesko comes with a carbon-fiber build which is a high-strength material known for its safety in hypercars. The safety standards are up there with other hypercars and it does not get many driver assistance technologies similar to other hypercars too.

Safety features include:

  • Traction control
  • Electronic stability control
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Rearview camera
  • Airbags
  • Roll cage

Competition

2021 Koenigsegg Jesko vs. 2021 Bugatti Chiron

It is hard to beat the Bugatti Chiron in terms of the overall package when it comes to the Bugatti Chiron. The typical hypercar design that has some great aspirational value around the globe is still admired by car enthusiasts. The Bugatti Chiron is not only quicker than the Koenigsegg Jesko but it is also a better overall car to drive in different driving conditions. The Bugatti Chiron performs better in the city with driving conditions offering a more comfortable driving experience. Both these cars are exceptionally good in terms of performance and both these car costs way more than the cost of an average house in a good locality. The decision between the two depends on your preference.

2021 Koenigsegg Jesko vs. 2021 Pagani Huayra Roadster BC

The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC is an ultimate hypercar that does not produce as much power as the Koenigsegg Jesko. The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC comes with exceptionally low weight and an excellent aerodynamic design. That is what helps the Pagani Huayra Roadster BC perform pretty well in the acceleration run against the Koenigsegg Jesko. The Koenigsegg Jesko is quicker than the Huayra Roadster BC but the difference is not that significant. Both these cars are exceptionally fast and come with beautiful exterior designs. The Pagani Huayra Roadster BC comes in even fewer numbers compared to the Koenigsegg Jesko as only 80 units of the Huara Roadster BC will be produced compared to the 125 units of Koenigsegg Jesko. The Huayra Roadster BC is also more expensive than the Koenigsegg Jesko.

Final Verdict

The 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko makes a big leap compared to its predecessors in many ways. The Koenigsegg Jesko comes with a twin-turbocharged 5-liter V8 engine that produces 1280 horsepower. But the real magic happens with E85 fuel as the Koenigsegg Jesko produces 1603 horsepower with E85 fuel which makes it one of the most powerful production cars. The Koenigsegg Jesko comes with a sumptuous interior layout with premium materials like leather, carbon fiber, Alcantara, aluminum, and glass. The interior of the Koenigsegg Jesko is not the most practical car out there. The exterior styling of the Koenigsegg Jesko is also very attractive. It is a picture-perfect car from the outside. The Koenigsegg Jesko is a limited-production car and only 125 units of the car will be produced globally. That is what makes it hard to get a Koenigsegg Jesko even if you have more than 3 million dollars in your bank account. But the 2021 Koenigsegg Jesko is a car that you can keep in your garage proudly for years to come if you manage to get one for yourself.
