Nissan has done a great job of providing a powerful V-8 engine, utilitarian interiors as well as great towing capacity with the Armada. Infiniti went one step further and gave the car some good looks that are a departure from the utilitarian character we have mentioned above, while also bringing some more features and luxury that the car lacked. This makes this car much more interesting and they have confidently provided it in only one trim level. In terms of reliability, it is quite good as we can observe only 26 complaints and 2 recalls this year. With starting prices at an MSRP of $62,405 the car can be quite expensive but the price is only on par with its competitors. Owners have been happy so far with the only faults being airbag issues and small electrical problems only. Speaking of the competition, it includes big names like the Cadillac Escalade, the Mercedes Benz GL Class, and the GMC Yukon. Let us find out more about the Infiniti QX 56 problems through this article as well as how the manufacturer has dealt with them.
2013 Infiniti QX56 User Complaints and Problems
Mechanical problems:
- Most of the complaints regarding this car have been about the timing chain needing only replacement. Infiniti QX56 timing chain problems are pretty much the only common complaint we can see among owners. However, this being a part that is expensive and also being labor-intensive, it causes users a fair bit of trouble.
- One owner had the unfortunate incident of having sound coming from the wheel constantly. It has been described as a clicking sound and causes a lot of disturbance.
Electrical system problems:
- There have been quite a few electrical problems in the car including issues with the defrost function, the air conditioner, the door locks, and so on. However, they are extremely quickly by the dealership.
Exterior problems:
- Some cars have had the unfortunate problem of water seepage from the tailgate. This will result in electric failures as further systems could be damaged.
Safety problems:
- A few owners have reported issues with the airbag warning light flashing in their cars. This causes a lot of panic because the owner understands that the airbag will not be available in case of a collision.
- There have been complaints regarding the seatbelts not locking properly into place. However, Nissan has taken this up in the recall.

Should you buy the 2013 Infiniti QX56?
The Infiniti QX56 is for the people who find the Nissan Armada a bit too utilitarian and we feel that the manufacturer has addressed the concerns about luxury in a great manner. On top of this, it is fairly reliable apart from the timing chain issue and we can see that most cars have had replacement parts of greater quality put in and completely got over the problem. On top of everything, it delivers excellent performance off the road and is a very sturdy vehicle that will also seat three rows of passengers if need be. It goes without saying that driving manners will not be quite as good as uni-body chassis cars but we don’t think users in the segment are exactly looking for that either. Overall, this car can be a great pick, especially for the price it is offered and the fact that it is much more reliable than the competition.
