Honda wanted to experiment with its much popular Accord sedan to give potential buyers a sedan-based crossover with more practicality without sacrificing on comfort and handling. The Crosstour was the outcome of it and it certainly fulfilled most of the targets as well. In the reliability aspect though the vehicle had a tough time in its 2011 model year while the current 2012 model has seen significant improvement. Officially, the 2012 Crosstour has seen only 27 complaints as compared to 278 from last year along with 4 recalls as compared to 9 from last year. The crossover was recalled 4 times for issues with the safety equipment onboard such as airbag inflator explosion and non-deployment of airbags. In the complaints section, most reports were regarding powertrain issues while the other aspects of the vehicle saw only a few against them. In its class, the Honda Crosstour faces competition from the Buick Enclave, the Toyota Venza, and the Nissan Murano.

Should you buy a used Honda Crosstour?
The Honda Crosstour fits the requirements almost perfectly for those looking for a more practical sedan with an optional AWD layout. Even though the Crosstour has below-average cargo capacity when compared to the rivals in its class, it still gets a bigger boot than most sedans out there. Moreover, the handsome list of features and the sedan-like handling makes it stand out among the traditional designs of crossovers. In the reliability aspect, the car has seen improvement in its current model but the last year’s model did run into several issues. Getting a used Crosstour might be a good idea for its unconventional design but getting a proper crossover such as the Nissan Murano would be a better choice.
