Right from the beginning, the Chrysler Pacifica got Stellantis’s favorite motor, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that can be found on the Dodge Charger and the Jeep Wrangler too. The 2023 Pacifica Hybrid will get the same motor that will be paired to a hybrid system consisting of two electric motors. The electric motors are powered through a 16-kWh lithium-ion battery pack that also features a plug-in charging option too. The powertrain also offers a pure EV mode in which the van can cover up to 33 miles before the battery runs out and the gasoline motor takes over. In hybrid mode, the powertrain makes a maximum of 260 horsepower along with 236 lb-ft of torque. To complete the 0-60mph sprint, the minivan takes 8 seconds and 16.2 seconds to complete the quarter-mile run. Inside the city limits as well as out on the highways, the powertrain always has adequate power on tap, and making those quick overtakes at highway speeds doesn’t involve working the motor too hard. However, as compared to other rivals, the Pacifica Hybrid might feel a bit leisurely at times.

The Kia Carnival gets a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 under its hood but doesn’t get any hybrid attachments though. Despite that, it makes 290 horsepower along with 262 lb-ft of torque, making it quicker than the Pacifica Hybrid too. The Honda Odyssey also gets a naturally breathing 3.5-liter V6 without any hybrid systems. It also makes more power and torque than the Pacifica Hybrid. The Toyota Sienna Hybrid gets the smallest motor here, a 2.5-liter I-4 along with a hybrid system and it is evident from its output figures. However, it is slightly quicker than the Pacifica, surprisingly.
2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Ride and Handling
There is nothing enthusiastic or sporty about a minivan’s handling since these vehicles are built for moving people and cargo, period. Yes, with the standard V6 motors and hybrid powertrains under their hoods, you can have some fun out on the open roads though. Coming to the Pacifica Hybrid, it handles like any other minivans out there, reasonably stable and sure-footed when driven in a relaxed way. With the AWD layout, the van offers more practicality over slippery driving conditions. In regular driving conditions, the suspension gobbles up almost every disturbance on the roads, offering a pleasant ride.
2023 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Braking Performance
People movers such as SUVs and minivans do require capable braking systems for safety reasons, especially when running with passengers onboard. The 2023 Pacifica Hybrid will get 13-inch front and 13-inch rear rotors to handle the braking duties. Being a plug-in hybrid, the van gets regenerative braking too, making the van’s braking a bit more effortless. However, the stopping distance of the Pacifica Hybrid is decent at most with 125 feet of stopping distance from 60mph.

The Kia Carnival gets 12.8-inch front and 12.8-inch rear rotors but shows exemplary braking prowess. With a curb weight of 4,727 lbs, the minivan stops completely from 60mph within 118 feet only. The Honda Odyssey gets the smallest front brakes here, a pair of 12.6-inch rotors. Despite that, the Odyssey halts from 60mph within 118 feet only. The Toyota Sienna Hybrid has the longest stopping distance of 131 feet despite having decent-sized brakes on all four wheels.
