I took it to the dealership 6 days ago and Audi wanted to be involved cos of course it a new car and this problem may affect similar models. They think the screen needs to be changed. Audi as a brand has always been at the forefront of technology with its offerings, the most popular among which is the Q7 SUV. It received a complete refresh last year with updated styling and a lot more features. Audi’s signature Quattro all-wheel drive system continues to make an appearance, offering plenty of traction even in tricky situations.

However, the complicated electronics and technology on offer have limited its reliability over the years. So far, the 2021 Audi Q7 has already been through 6 recalls. The NHTSA has also recorded 7 registered complaints so far. Let’s take a comprehensive look at how reliable Audi’s latest luxury family mover is.

Mechanical Problems

  • Engine - Several owners reported fuel pump issues, causing the engine to lose power and stall. Audi has issued a recall to diagnose and fix the fuel pump of all affected models.

 Electrical Problems

  • Infotainment - The upper dashboard display of the MMI system lost power for some owners, causing it to reboot.
  • Climate vents - The center climate vents failed to flow any air for some owners, especially on the driver’s side.

 Safety Problems

  • Driver Assistance - The forward collision avoidance system malfunctioned for some owners, causing the Q7 to stop abruptly without any objects in front. The sudden forward movement caused injury to passengers in some cases.

Exterior Problems

  • Windshield - Some owners reported cracking windshields even with small pebbles.

Faulty Side Impact Crash Sensor In Front Doors

The electrical connector can detach from the door crash sensor in either of the front doors. And the detached connecter can possibly delay the activation of safety restraint systems including the airbags, increasing the risk of injury

Audi will notify owners, and dealers will inspect, and as necessary, replace the crash sensors in both front doors, free of charge. The recall began on December 23, 2020. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 69BM.

Audi will notify owners, and dealers will update the airbag control module, free of charge. The recall began on March 5, 2021. Owners can contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 69BV.

Rear Axle Lock Nuts May Break

Dealers will inspect, and replace as necessary, the middle-rear seat belt assemblies, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on August 27, 2021. Owners may contact Volkswagen customer service at 1-800-893-5298 and Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's numbers for this recall are 69CR (VW) and 69CS (Audi).

Dealers will inspect the rear axle, adjust the alignment as necessary, and replace any prematurely or unevenly worn tires, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 3, 2022. Owners may contact Audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Audi's number for this recall is 42L5.
