FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE

This vehicle has presented a myriad of electrical problems as follows:  1. Glitching in the central display panel. Slow to turn on, flickers at times. 2. ALM (Active Lane Management) system randomly and suddenly turning off.  Often unable to turn the ALM system back on while driving.  The same issue with the Adaptive Cruise Control system.   3. Vehicle sensors showing "unavailable" on the driver's display screen. 4. Vehicle was completely dead due to both batteries dying (main and auxillary) 5.  Engine ran hot after a short period of time.  Temperature reached as high as 253 degrees, then the engine overheating sign came on, followed by Low Oil pressure notification.  Oil pressure dropped to at least 21 psi 6. There were no warning messages prior to any of these incidents occurring. 7. Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) would randomly engage for no apparent reason. 8. ALM unavailable service required message would randomly show up. 9. Front passenger screen would not come on, when the screen had seldomly been used. 10.  The engine jumps every so often while driving.  This is unrelated to the engine automatice stop feature  when the vehicle is stopped. 11. A/C system is faulty.  The "auto" button does not automatically adjuster the temperature or the fan speed when it is in use. I've had this issue since I purchased the vehicle.  Reported to dealership more than once and it's still unresolved. 12. Driver's side window will remain stuck in the down position after window has been lowered.  You have to turn the vehicle off and on for this to reset and window starts to operate again.  Dealership cannot duplicate and this has happened more than once. 13. Stop/start not ready engine temperature too low message would randomly pop up at times. 14.  When engine cranked, various dislay signs appeared on the driver's panel and would not allow me to use the brakes. 15.  The vehicle has been in the shop since July 11th.  No loaner vehicle was provided. Incidents cover various dates.

POWER TRAIN

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that while approaching a stop with his foot on the brake pedal, the vehicle shut off once slowed down to 1-3 MPH. As a result of the failure, the contact was forced to restart the vehicle, with the power steering and check engine warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) was reset, and the software was updated. Despite the repair, the contact stated that the failure returned immediately while driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 150.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM

The vehicle is stalling. The vehicle has been to the dealership three times and they cannot figure out the issue. The vehicle has only been inspected by dealership. There was no warning lamps or message of this issue. The issues started two weeks after we purchased the vehicle.

Without any warning my car will power off, then power on while I've been stopped at a light and getting ready to make a left turn. Incident has occurred on 3 separate occasions.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER

While driving at highway speeds, the jeep suddenly downshifted, revved up a ton, and threw overheat and low oil warnings. The head gasket likely almost blew, we were very close to losing control of the vehicle. After googling, I discovered that this is a problem that Jeep is aware of: dozens of reports online over the last two years, and the dealerships have been buying them back and claiming it's just a thermostat problem rather than issuing a recall for what is obviously a very serious design flaw and safety issue.

Leaving for work this morning and reversed out of parking spot, tried to pull out onto a busy road and almost died. The car just kinda rolled forward a bit and would not accelerate or do anything!  The ignition switch was blinking. I could not reverse or go forward or put it in park, the gear shifter lights were all blinking as well. I couldn't shut the car off to restart it.  I could not change gears or go anywhere but sit in the middle of an intersection with cars approaching me at a high rate of speed.  It took approx 2 min for the car to do anything. It finally allowed me to shut it off and restart.  Check engine light on.  I reversed back into the parking lot I had exited from and drove it around to make sure I could accelerate onto this road where people do 70mph. I'm extremely lucky I did not get t-boned.  I have read about this issue escalating to the car having this problem and told my dealership about this when i was having the check engine light issues mentioned below. I really do not feel safe in this car now after getting stuck in an intersection.   Prior issue with wagoneer, it's been to the dealership at least 4x for this: bumps you back into park when you try to reverse and then the check engine light comes on.  I have to shut the car off, open my door, restart, and then it'll go into gear and check engine light remains on until I bring it in or sometimes after driving a bit it goes off itself.  There was some known issue with possible problems with the transmission regulator valve so they switched that out and said that should take care of the issue. But check engine light on again. It now progressed into being completely  disabled  at an intersection today.

VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL

I was driving and the car started making a weird noise. It then started to slow, the temperature went to red and the car started beeping. It kept going slow and then just stopped in the middle of the road. I could not move and was almost hit by multiple cars.

TIRES

BRIDGESTONE DUELER H/L ALENZA  275/55R20  Tire sustained rapid and 100% complete airloss while driving on the highway. There were no warnings received via the vehicle tire pressure monitor system until over an hour later after the faulty tire had been changed.   This is a brand new vehicle which I had only been driving for a couple of weeks. Personally only contributing to a couple hundred miles on the vehicle.  There is no damage to the tire such as a puncture or foreign object.  There had been no event leading up to this such as a pothole, a curb, etc..   There are multiple visible indents along the sidewall of the tire.   The tire was inspected and viewed in person by roadside assistance technician as well as one dealership manager in addition to photos that were sent to home dealership and observed by manager and service manager.

SEATS

The second row easy entry keeps failing. The easy entry goes out and throws the seat forward. person in seat has to force the seat down. Immediately after stopping and passenger getting out the seat is forced forward unable to latch until after shoving it back a few times. Warning on driver panel comes on to check second row seat. we have taking the car in twice and it continues to fail. Very unsatisfactory for a 85k vehicle. My children are afraid to sit in this seat due to it being unsafe and the seat belt being the only thing holding it down while in motion. Dealer said its a sensor that is going out. we are going on are third trip to the dealer. would have been more but seams to reset itself every now and then. Forcing us to reschedule to maintenance visit.

Unexplained and dangerous transmission issue resulting in stalling while driving at low speeds, electronic malfunction, and check engine light which first occurred on 7/23/24 when the vehicle had roughly 3,500 miles. Vehicle was with dealer service from July 24-August 15, 2024. During that time, repair was allegedly attempted twice and vehicle returned to me on 8/15/24 after allegedly a replacement part was installed from Jeep/Chrysler HQ. Was told by the dealer service rep the issue was a known issue and other Wagoneers had been brought in with the same issue when I retrieved the vehicle. Dealer service could/would not confirm if issue was recreated but assume so since the vehicle was kept for so long. Sudden stalling and check engine light occurred again on 10/3/2024. Contacted dealer service on 10/3/2024; was told not to drive vehicle and a tow truck would be sent. Car towed to dealer on 10/4/2024 and returned again after alleged repair on 10/18.  Issue occured again on 11/16.  Have not brought it back to the dealer as I have filed for lemon law. Check engine light was on but went off a week later. On all three occasions, prior to the stalling and electrical malfunction, the car seems to be stuck in a low gear while driving and makes a grinding noise.  The issue occurs when slowing down and has not happened at high speeds, luckily.  Filing this with NHSTA as I see there is also an investigation into 2022 model for same issue.

With less than 500 miles on the vehicle, while stopped at a stoplight, the vehicle automatically shifted from drive to park and had to be restarted in order to accelerate forward. Check engine light also came on. When stopped at the same light again moments later, the same thing occurred. These events happened within a couple minutes of each other. Vehicle would not accelerate until restarted.  Took vehicle to get serviced, the next day within minutes after leaving the dealership and servicing, the check engine light came on after accelerating at a stop light with the same engine error codes.

WHEELS

Vibrations in steering and seating despite multiple balancing attempts and new tires

Vehicle is one week old from dealership with 382 miles on odometer at time of incident. Driving under normal conditions. Paved city street in dry weather. Vehicle lost engine power and showed the error message on gauge cluster âshift into pâ. Accelerator would not work till stopped vehicle in the middle of the road and shifted to park and back to drive gear.

While sitting at the gas station in park, my feet were on the floor not touching the brake or gas pedal, the wagoneer shifted itself into drive and started driving forward and collided with the parking barrier in front of me.

Vehicle is 4 months old and has 2300 miles on it.   Randomly and suddenly the vehicle will lose power while in traffic. No steering or engine power. It will abruptly coast to a stop, put itself into park, and stall. Several lights will come on. All the lights but the check engine lights disappear after letting the car sit. The car sometimes turns over only to stall a few seconds later. If left to sit for 30 minutes or so, it will drive again.   Obviously a car that shuts off and loses power while driving is a big safety issue.   I am unsure if I should drive it again, in case it happens at the wrong time.   This has happened on three occasions over the last 350 miles.   5/6/24 5/22/24 6/15/24  The vehicle has spent over thirty days at the dealer. They do not know how to fix it.    On 6/15/ 24 one of the owners of the dealership was able to see the mechanical problems 1st hand.

Brand new with 20 miles on the car, drove 120 miles home from the dealership and did not drive hard or aggressively.  The car was pouring oil and needed to be towed to the nearest dealer for a blown crank shaft seal.

Shifter reports loss communication AND NO OTHER MODULES report the condition. Diagnostic:
Please make sure ONLY shifter reports loss communication. If there are other modules reporting loss communication, then follow the existing service procedure Repair Procedure:
1. Verify Complaint - ESM reports a Loss of Communication (LOC) DTC, but no other modules do. - If multiple modules report the same LOC, the ESM is not the cause (its not a gateway module). 2. Read DTCs - Relevant codes:
U0101, U0140, U0155, U0129, U11C3, U0402, U0422, U0423, U0415, U145D. - If multiple LOC DTCs are present:
a. Check battery health, system voltage, and TCM (including valve body). b. If TCM goes offline, ESM may falsely report LOC DTCs. 3. Check Environmental Data - Look for voltage/system issues at the same mileage. a. If DTCs clear, do not replace ESM. b. If not, inspect:
b.1 Module connectors/pins:
If damaged, dont repair shifter. b.2 TCM connectors/pins:

- The ESM only communicates with the TCM and is fully controlled by it. - In non-combustion engines, the TCM is replaced by the PCM. - If a stored DTC in the ESM disappears and doest return, do not replace the ESM.

Windshield HUD (Head Up Display) Display Features

Vehicle Key FOB Functions for Passive Entry, Lock and Unlock, and Passive Keyless Go Starting Intermittently Do Not Operate

Before replacing the Headlamp Switch, due to an issue on the Dimmers. Please follow the next steps to corroborate if the Headlamp Switch is malfunctioning:
1.- Please disconnect and reconnect the headlamp Switch. And verify if the issue is corrected. If it is the Instrument panel Dimmer (Right Dimmer) 2.- Review the resistance value between Pins 6 & 3. The value should be around 5.76 KOhms, when in the lowest position to 311 ohms in the top position (Parade Detent). If it is the ambient light dimmer (Left Dimmer) 2.- Review the resistance value between Pins 8 & 3. The value should be around 14.55 KOhms, when in the lowest position (Dome defeat) to 182 ohms in the top position If a problem is found in the resistor values. Please replace the Switch.

ADJUSTER Valve Lash
Customer's complaint may include a ticking noise coming from the engine. Technician's observations can refer to spongy or stuck hydraulic lash adjusters. Exhaust lash adjusters found with a "spongy" condition (compressible plunger) leading to the assumption of being defective/malfunctioning. EXHAUST lash adjusters are designed to be COMPRESSIBLE by hand. Intake lash adjusters found with a stiff or stuck condition (non-compressible plunger) leading to the assumption of being defective/malfunctioning. INTAKE lash adjusters are designed to be NON COMPRESSIBLE by hand. Do Not Replace EXHAUST lash adjusters when the following condition is present:
should be compressible, but they will exert a reactionary spring force during compression and return to full expansion without a compression force. Do Not Replace INTAKE lash adjusters when the following condition is present:
should feel very firm and difficult to compress. Once the correct functioning of the intake and exhaust lash adjusters is validated with the procedure above, refer to the Service Manual "HYDRAULIC LIFTER(S) NOISE DIAGNOSIS" procedure. After the corresponding service procedures from the Service Manual involving the Lash Adjusters have been conducted, refer to the detailed instructions in the Service Manual to diagnose and/or service any other component.

"Keyfob
WL/WS/LB Key fobs unable to be programmed at dealers. Please check current stock and verify a Blue ""OK"" mark on part label. If not present send part back to Mopar under RMA 8925-792 and replace with clean stock from Mopar. Some vehicles may exhibit DTC B1A0A-00 that has set erroneously and with no associated owner complaints. It is not recommended to replace any parts for this concern, all service parts will perform the same. Engineering is aware of a software issue that may set this false DTC for FOB 3 Performance when there may not even be a FOB 3 programmed to the vehicle. A software update is expected to be released within the 1st quarter of 2025 to correct this concern."

"Loss Of Power Steering Assist
Customers must experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination and the vehicle must
exhibit/set one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) as active:
â C1593-00 - Steering Torque Sensor Circuit.
â C0051-64 - Steering Angle Sensor (EPS) - Signal Plausibility Failure.
Customers may experience one or more of the following:
â ""EPS"" indicator is illuminated on the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC).
â Partial or full loss of power steering assist.
â Once the DTC is set, the reduction or loss of assist will remain for the remainder of the key cycle

cleaning the connector or possibly replacing the electric rack and pinion gea"

LANE DEPARTURE

Intermittent Vibration Buzz Squeak Rattle (BSR) Shaking Felt In Steering Wheel.

1) If below DTCs are observed, please refer to 08-095-25 REV. B (For MY24) and 08-094-25 REV. A (For MY25)  U0420-00 - Invalid Data Received from Power Steering Control Module. (Set by CADM2)  C2217-00 - Electric Power Steering Module Internal.  C221F-00 - ECU Not Initialized.  C1592-00 - Electronic Power Steering Motor Circuit.  C1593-00 - Steering Torque Sensor Circuit. 2) IF C2217 DTC is observed to be active, please make sure that both connectors on EPS are receiving voltage ranging between 10V-16V"

Engine Overheating 
Customer Complaint/Technician Observation: Customer complaint may include 
engine âoverheatingâ. 
Discussion: When dealing with a customer complaint of engine âoverheatingâ, it is 
most important to understand exactly what the customer's definition is of âoverheatingâ. 
An explanation from the customer of what exactly happened is necessary. 
Overheating descriptions could include warning lamp(s), messages in the cluster, 
steam/smoke coming from under the hood, gauge ârunning higher than normalâ, actual 
engine temperature higher than what the customer considers normal, smells hot, 
coolant leaking under the vehicle, etc. 
Observed engine operating temperatures of 245 F (118 C) degrees or lower are typical 
and are NOT considered overheating.

Underhood start/stop safety
The customer may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further
investigation the technician may find the following Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC):
- P152E Engine -Hood Switch 2 Circuit High. - DTC P152F Customers may also experience:
- Start/Stop system warning light. - Start/Stop inoperable. - Remote start inoperable.
Diagnosis:
- Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in
DealerCONNECT/Service Library, verify all related systems are functioning as designed. If
DTCs or symptom conditions, other than the one listed are present, record the issues on the
repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin. - If any
vehicle exhibits any of the symptoms listed above in the customer symptom section, perform
the Repair Procedure. - Special Tools/Equipment:
wiTECH or equivalent. Repair Procedure:
1. Open the hood and locate the hood switch 2. Push in on the two locking tabs and pull
them out. 3. Disconnect the wire connector from the switch. 4. Connect the wires to the
same hood switch. 5. Push the switch back into the hold until both lock tab are engaged. 6.
Clear all DTCs that may have been set in any module during this repair procedure. 7. In
case the P152F/P152E DTCs persist, repeat the procedure with a new/spare/known good
switch and repeat steps 5 and 6. 8. Replace switch installed during previous step for the
original switch of the vehicle. If DTCs P152F/P152E are not present, leave the original
switch installed and do not document the change of the switch in the repair
process/narrative.

Transfer Case Motor Gear:  Confirm the attachment points from the wiring routes when they inspect a shift motor on the t-case. Review the connection of the connector X238A, make sure it's fully seated and that the lever is fully locked on the connector.

"Flash: Body Control Module (BCM) Updates
Customers may experience one or more of the following:
â Battery drained.
â Ignition off draw.
â Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) goes off and on when the vehicle goes into sleep mode.
â Door lock indicator lamps stay illuminated.
This bulletin involves updating the BCM with the latest available software."

"Flash: Electric Power Steering (EPS) Module Updates
The customer may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further
investigation the technician may find one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs):
â **U0420-00 - Invalid Data Received From Power Steering Control Module.**
â C2217-00 - Electric Power Steering Module Internal.
â C221F-00 - ECU Not Initialized.
â C1592-00 - Electronic Power Steering Motor Circuit.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) (Stellantis) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler, Jeep Wagoneer, Jeep Grand Wagoneer, Chrysler Pacifica, Ram 3500, Ram 3500 cab chassis, Ram 2500, Ram 4500 cab chassis, Ram 5500 cab chassis, 2023 Jeep Gladiator, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Grand Cherokee L, Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a GVWR less than 10,000 lbs., and Chrysler Voyager vehicles.  The steering column control module may not be welded properly, which can prevent the driver's air bag from deploying in a crash.  As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."

Seat Belt Assembly Inaccessible/FMVSS 208 & 209

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles.  The third-row seat belts may not allow occupants to properly access or fasten the seat belt to the buckle.  As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard numbers 208, "Occupant Crash Protection" and 209, "Seat Belt Assemblies."

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L, and 2022-2024 Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer vehicles.  The Central Vision Park Assist module (CVPAM) software may prevent the rearview image from displaying when the vehicle is placed in reverse.
