Overview

The Crown moniker was reborn just last year in the United States after decades of absence. The 2024 Toyota Crown comes with minimal but desirable changes as compared to the previous model year. However, it should not be confused with the 2024 Crown Sport revealed in Japan. Toyota now offers soft-touch materials along with better fit and finish inside the cabin. The mid-level Limited trim gets access to the Advance Technology Package for added ADAS features. Also, the top-tier Platinum trim gets access to all these package features as standard.

The 2024 Toyota Crown starts at $40,050, and for that price, it offers a "Lexus feel for Lexus money". With a powerful hybrid powertrain under its hood, it is one of the fastest Toyota cars in terms of 0–60 and top speed. The Toyota Crown is one of the best Toyota cars to buy in 2023, and that won't change for the upcoming year as well. With an EPA-estimated mpg rating of up to 42 mpg, the Toyota Crown mpg would satisfy most environmentally conscious buyers. Buying Advice

We believe that the 2024 Toyota Crown Limited would be the most appropriate trim to buy. It costs $5,600 more than the XLE trim but offers many additional features. Some features, like quad-LED pojector headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a panoramic fixed glass roof with a poem sunshade, a smart key system, leather-trimmed front seats with 8-way power-adjustability, heated and ventilated front seats, and a few more, are standard. However, if you are willing to spend more for better performance, then the Platinum trim must be your choice.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

The Toyota Crown sedan made its way to the U.S. shores again after many decades. The elevated sedan styling and liftback design belong to the love or hate category. However, what brings it into consideration is its luxurious interior and high fuel economy. The 2024 Toyota Crown is no different, and it comes with moderate updates to the interior and added driving aids. The good becomes better. The Toyota Crown is not all about luxury and fancy features; it is also about safety. Every trim is equipped with the TSS 3.0 suite of safety features.

The 2024 Toyota Crown comes in three trim configurations: XLE, Limited, and Platinum. The prices of these trims are $40,050, $45,650, and $53,070, respectively. An additional destination fee of $1,095 is levied across every trim. The base XLE trim can be leased for a term of 36 months, with monthly payments of $549 and $4,649 due at signing. The mileage limit is 10,000 miles. Also, it can be financed for a term of 72 months at a low APR of 9.56% and $688/month with $3,450 as a down payment.

The 2024 Toyota Crown specs are very competitive, with a 2.5-liter inline-four engine and three electric motors producing 236 hp of combined output. The hybrid powertrain is mated to a CVT. If you are into more performance, the Platinum trim fits the bill with its 2.4-liter inline-four turbocharged engine and an electric motor with a combined output of 340 hp. The Platinum's powertrain is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission, while AWD is standard across every trim.

The 2024 Toyota Crown 0–60 sprint takes 7.2 seconds with the base hybrid powertrain, while the more powerful powertrain enables the Crown 2024 to do a 0–60 sprint in 5.1 seconds. However, the higher performance in the Platinum trim comes at the cost of fuel economy. The Crown Platinum's mpg ratings are 29 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined, much lower than the XLE and Limited trims. To know more, stay tuned for a complete review.
