Overview

Koenigsegg has always tried to stay ahead of the competition in the world of hypercars. The Koenigsegg Agera RS was a great example of that setting the record for the fastest production car for quite a long time. But Bugatti recently passed the record with the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ setting the new record for top speed. The Koenigsegg Jesko was their answer to break the record which already crossed the 300 mph mark. But Koenigsegg leaped forward trying to break their own record with the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut.

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is based on the same standard Koenigsegg Jesko. It gets powered by a 5.1-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that can produce well over 1600 horsepower if you use E85 fuel. The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is going to be quicker than the standard Jesko and it will also hit a higher top speed compared to the Jesko. But there is not much clarity on the precise performance figures as of now. The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut will compete against the likes of the 2022 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, the 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie, and the 2022 Hennessey Venom F5.

Buying Advice

We recommend going with the 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut over the standard Jesko who wants a higher top speed and better stability. For most buyers who want a blazing-fast car and impeccable handling, the standard Koenigsegg Jesko is not a bad choice either as it can also cross the 300 miles per hour mark. There are plenty of customization options with the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut but it depends on your personal preferences. You can consider customizing the interior theme and the exterior paint job of the car based on your preferences.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

The Koenigsegg Jesko was launched as a track-focused car by the Swedish hypercar maker Koenigsegg. The purpose was to bring a successor of the legendary Koenigsegg Agera RS and to beat the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ by offering an even higher top speed. The Koenigsegg Jesko achieved that target pretty well but just to prevent them from any potential threat in the future, Koenigsegg made changes in the Koenigsegg Jesko to make it even faster. The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko comes out as the result of the same. It makes enhancements in the design and aerodynamics of the car to achieve an even higher speed compared to the Jesko.

Features

The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut will be based on the standard Koenigsegg Jesko. But you can not consider it as a trim level of the Koenigsegg Jesko and it is going to be a different car altogether. The main focus of the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is speed and performance so do not expect many fancy features. It will come with enhancements in the Jesko to make the car more aerodynamic to achieve a better top speed. Talking about the technology and creature comforts, Koenigsegg generally offers better technology and creature comforts in their cabin compared to other hypercars. But that does not mean you will get many advanced technologies and a modern infotainment system. It remains pretty basic in those areas to shift the focus to better performance and a luxurious experience.

We recommend

Engine and Performance

The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut does not get many changes under its hood. It is powered by a 5.1-liter twin-turbocharged V8 gasoline engine that also does duty in the earlier Koenigsegg Jesko. Not even that, the power and torque output from the engine also remains identical. You can expect a maximum power output of 1280 horsepower on gasoline and around 1603 horsepower on E85 fuel. The peak torque output of 1106 lb-ft also remains identical to the Koenigsegg Jesko. The performance figures are not yet launched by Koenigsegg officially. It should complete the 0 to 60 mph run in 2.5 seconds or less based on the experience with the previous model. According to the CEO of the company Christian von Koenigsegg, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut should be able to achieve a top speed of 330.5 mph which will help it break the record of the fastest production car.

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ broke the record of the fastest production car in the world with a top speed of a little over 304 miles per hour. However, that is not the same top speed that you will get in your unit. The road-legal car that you can buy comes with a top speed which is limited to 273 miles per hour. The 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie comes with a top speed of 220 mph which is not close to the other rivals. But Aston Martin Valkyrie focuses more on the lap time on the track, and it is quicker than its rivals in outright acceleration. The Hennessey Venom F5 is the closest rival of the Jesko Absolut with a top speed of around 311 miles per hour. The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is in a completely different league with claims of crossing the 330 mph mark, it will beat the rivals by quite a big margin.

2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Ride and Handling

The Koenigsegg Jesko is a great car in terms of driving dynamics and handling. Jesko is meant for sharp handling on the track and it performs exceptionally well in that department. But with the 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, the focus of the car has completely changed, as not it focuses on a better top speed. It does not mean that the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut compromises on handling. It is still a great handler but with the change in focus, it tries to improve stability more than agility with the new update.

The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is still one of the best handling cars and it will not disappoint you on track with its handling. The steering wheel is equally precise with the right amount of feel and feedback. But the one area where it has made a significant leap compared to the Jesko is better stability at higher speeds. It has made various changes in the exterior of the car to achieve better aerodynamics to achieve higher speed and better stability. The suspension setup remains impressive and with such a low center of gravity, there is no body roll in the car either.

2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Braking Performance

The braking system was already quite impressive for the standard Koenigsegg Jesko. However, there is still no data on the size of the brake rotors or the official stopping distance of the Jesko as of now. There is not much data on the braking hardware or stopping distance of the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut either. It might come with the same braking system that comes with the standard Koenigsegg Jesko. But talking about the braking performance, you can expect some improvement as Koenigsegg has worked on the design to work on the aerodynamics of the car. It also gets a revised style of rear wings to offer better stability. It should also help create drag when you apply brakes for a better stopping distance.

The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut gets many changes in the exterior design of the car to make it more aerodynamic compared to the standard Koenigsegg Jesko. However, the curb weight remains pretty much the same as the Jesko. The official stopping distance is not available for either of the cars so you can only get a better idea once these cars are tested for their braking performance. In fact, other cars in the competition have not listed the size of the brake rotors or their stopping distance either. But since all of them are designed for crazy speeds and mainly for track purposes, the braking system is quite capable for all the cars in the competition.

Fuel Economy

Those who prefer fuel economy figures will do better with a car that costs a fraction of the cost of the Koenigsegg Jesko. But when you spend so much money on a car like the 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut, you want to have the best out of it. You are never going to drive the Jesko Absolut matching the right rpm to get the best fuel economy from the engine. Instead, your focus will be on getting the best performance out of the car. The fuel economy figures for the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut are not out yet. But do not expect great fuel economy figures from the car either. You can expect single-digit figures and anything above that will just be an addition. Since it is based on the standard Koenigsegg Jesko, you can expect a fuel tank capacity of 19 gallons.

The 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie is the only hypercar in the competition here that uses a hybrid powertrain. But the electric motors that support the powertrain of the Aston Martin Valkyrie are not meant for better fuel efficiency. Instead, they are meant to improve the acceleration figures and the performance of the car. The fuel economy figures of the Aston Martin Valkyrie are not available as of now but you can expect better efficiency compared to the rivals. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ comes with the largest fuel tank capacity in the competition and it helps the car go for a little over 300 miles on a full tank if you include highway driving. The fuel economy figures for the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut are not available as of now. The same goes for the Hennessey Venom F5.

Interior

The interior of the standard Koenigsegg Jesko was already a great place to be in. And that’s the reason, you should not expect many changes in the interior of the car over the standard Jesko. It will majorly be a carryover of the interior layout of the Koenigsegg Jesko. You get a beautiful dashboard covered in premium leather with contrast stitching. There is also the use of other premium materials like Alcantara, aluminum, and glass in the cabin. It gets automatic climate control and a digital instrument cluster to see all the driver-related information. The space is quite good for the driver and the passenger. But there are not many places in the cabin for storage.

The interior layout of the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is pretty much the same as compared to the standard Koenigsegg Jesko. It does not make any changes in the interior dimensions and the space inside the cabin remains identical. The quality of the cabin also remains the same and you get a plethora of customization options. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ also does not bring extra space in its cabin compared to the standard Bugatti Chiron. But there are some changes in the interior layout for sure. The Aston Martin Valkyrie also offers enough space for two passengers in the cabin. The cargo area is limited in the Aston Martin Valkyrie like other rivals too. The Hennessey Venom F5 is also a sports car and the story does not change in the cabin of the Venom f5 either.

Standout interior features:

  • Customizable seats
  • Digital instrument cluster
  • Automatic climate control
  • Premium materials like leather, Alcantara, and carbon fiber
  • Customizable lighting options
  • Head-up display

2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Infotainment System

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut does make a big difference in the infotainment system of the car either. It is still a performance-oriented hypercar that focuses mainly on performance and driving dynamics. When you have that kind of performance under the hood and the beautiful music from the V8 engine from the back when you have the engine, you hardly need an infotainment system for your entertainment. It is the same case with the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut. It gets a TFT display mounted in the center console of the car that comes with all the controls for the infotainment system. It supports USB and Bluetooth connectivity for music playback.

Standout infotainment features:

  • TFT touchscreen display
  • USB connectivity
  • Bluetooth connectivity
  • AM/FM radio
  • Inductive phone charging
  • Premium sound system

Exterior

The exterior styling of the 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut looks a lot like the standard Koenigsegg Jesko. But when you keep both these hypercars side-by-side, there are many differences in the exterior styling of these cars. The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut looks like it has been designed to be an aerodynamic car that has to achieve the best possible speeds. There are many improvements in the exterior style to achieve that. It gets redesigned rear wings inspired by the F-15 fighter jet. Koenigsegg has also lowered the ride height of the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut for a better center of gravity. The rear hood is also more extended compared to the standard Jesko. You can remove the roof of the car and keep it in the trunk to get the feel of open-air driving.

The 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie is the longest car in the competition and it is also the highest car compared to its rivals. When you look at the length of the wheelbase of the car, the Aston Martin Valkyrie comes with a significantly longer wheelbase than its rivals. But do not expect much in the cabin and all of them can only accommodate a maximum of two passengers. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ is the second longest and widest car but with a shorter wheelbase compared to the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut. The Hennessey Venom F5 is also slightly bigger than the Jesko Absolut in terms of overall length but gets a shorter wheelbase. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ remains the heaviest car in the competition while the Aston Martin Valkyrie remains the lightest.

Standout exterior features:

  • 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels
  • LED headlights with LED DRLs
  • Diagonal wrap-around windshield
  • Carbon fiber wheels
  • Active suspension
  • Gull-wing doors

Safety

The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut only makes enhancements to give the standard Jesko better aerodynamics and a lower drag so that it can offer less drag to achieve better top speed. There are no other changes in the build of the car or even the safety features. The safety factor remains the same for both of these hypercars. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) have not tested either the standard Jesko or the Jesko Absolut for their safety ratings as they are super expensive hypercars. However, both these cars are quite safe as they get solid build quality and the basic safety features that are common with other hypercars.

Safety features include:

  • Traction control
  • Electronic stability control
  • Blind-spot monitoring
  • Rearview camera
  • Airbags
  • Roll cage

Competition

2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut vs. 2022 Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+

The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ was introduced in 2019 to break the record of the fastest production car held by Koenigsegg Agera RS back then. The Bugatti Chiron Super Sport + successfully achieved its target for sure. It crosses the speed of around 304 miles per hour which is quite an impressive number. But the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut takes that to the next level. Although the standard Koenigsegg Jesko also had enough power to cross the 300 mph mark and beat the Chiron Super Sport 300+, the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut makes a big leap ahead. The Koenigsegg Jesko offers an even higher top speed and the choice between the two boils down to your preference.

2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut vs. 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie

The 2022 Aston Martin Valkyrie is a completely different car altogether when you keep it against the Koenigsegg Jesko. The Aston Martin Valkyrie is a track-oriented car designed for sharp handling and instant performance. It does not focus on higher top speeds like the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut. The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut is a more stable car at higher speeds and everything in the car is designed for the same purpose. On the other hand, the Aston Martin Valkyries comes with sharp handling for better performance on the track. The Aston Martin Valkyries is also quicker of the two in the acceleration runs. The choice between these two cars depends on your purpose.

2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut vs. 2022 Hennessey Venom F5

The 2022 Hennessey Venom F5 is the closest rival of the Jesko Absolut when you look at the top speed of both these cars. The good news is that the Hennessey Venom F5 is also more affordable when you compare it with the Koegnigsgg Jesko Absolut. The exterior styling of the Hennessey Venom F5 is also quite impressive and most people will like the design of the car from the outside. The quality of the interior is also good enough for the class and Hennessey has tried to keep things simple in the cabin. However, the Jesko Absolut comes with slightly quicker acceleration timings and remains unbeatable in terms of top speed too. It depends on your preference which brand appeals more to you.

Final Verdict

The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut comes with a big leap in performance compared to the already fast Koenigsegg Jesko. The standard Jesko already had the potential to break the record for the fastest production car in the world, but Koenigsegg worked on the Absolut model to further improve their chances of being at the top for a while now. The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut also makes many changes to the exterior of the car to give it a different look compared to the standard Jesko. But the design improvements in those changes are not just for cosmetic purposes. Instead, it brings all the changes in the exterior of the standard Jesko to improve the aerodynamics and stability of the car to achieve a higher speed. The interior of both cars remains largely unchanged with the same level of customization options too. The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut will also be a limited-production car but you will be to check it later when there is an official announcement on how many units of the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut will be produced.
