Overview

In the world cargo van market, the 2013 Chevrolet Express Cargo Van is a popular name. Belonging to the fullsize cargo van segment, it competes with the Nissan NV Cargo Van, the GMC Savana Cargo Van, and the Ford E-Series Cargo Van. The base trim starts at around an MSRP of $25,750. With 3 trims on offer, prices reach around $31,460. Traditionally offered bareboned, cargo vans can be equipped to fill the need of the buyer. The Express too can be equipped with packages such as Chrome Appearance Package, Power Package, or Express Access Package, improving either form or function. The standard engine on offer is a 4.3L V6 mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission This engine maintains a combined MPG of 17 while making 195 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Next is a 5.3L V8 engine which is also coupled to a 4-speed automatic transmission. It makes 310 horsepower and 334 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, the 4.8L V8 engine with 6-speed automatic transmission is able to put out 280 horsepower. However, if more power is required, one can get a 6.0L V8 engine which is available in gas and flex-fuel variants producing 324 horsepower and 279 horsepower respectively. This engine is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The optional engine returns a combined fuel economy of 12 mpg. You can also equip the Express with a diesel engine which has an engine output of 260 horsepower.

Buying Advice

Trims don’t vary according to the features allocation but due to load ratings. Hence, you can select the right one that will fulfill your requirements. If you want to skip the base 4.3L V6 an engine, the trim ladder will start with the 2500 trim. Meanwhile, an extended wheelbase is the only given on the 2500 and 3500 trims.
