Overview

The 2017 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is a proud member of the compact SUV segment, locking horns with just the Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid. Toyota offers 3 trims of the RAV4 Hybrid in 2017, starting at a base price of $29,030 and going all the way up to a price of $34,030. Its 2.5L Inline-4 engine with two electric motors and CVT give the SUV 194 horsepower and 152 lb-ft of torque.

With that, it manages a 0-60 of 8.3 seconds and boasts a towing capacity of 1,750 pounds. Moving to fuel economy, the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid manages to get a combined EPA rating of 32 MPG, which is just average for the class, with most of its rivals reaching similar numbers. It also has a ground clearance of 7.0 inches.

Buying Advice

SE trim offers a sport-tuned suspension system and a sportier exterior design, making it our favorite model. We also like the efficient hybrid setup and Toyota Safety Sense.

              2017 RAV4 Review

Pros - ["Good gas milage", "Lots of safety features", "High profile"]

Cons - ["Small cargo area", "water pump problems", "Door handles peeling"]

Due to owning another Toyota SUV that was un an accident and being able to walk away with no injuries influenced me to buy another Toyota. The 2017 RAV 4 has anti-crash sensors all around, as well as other safety features like lane departure signals, airbags and even a warning when your driving indicates you may need a break. I recommend Toyota products to anyone looking for a car.

Pros - ["Reliability", "Spacious cargo area"]

Cons - ["Front wheel drive", "Manual hatch"]

For a small suv this car has zip! I love the ample space to go shopping as well. I feel safe and don't really worry about being top heavy as I have in other suvs. I get no less than 35 mpg. I love the lane assist and the adaptive cruise control, it keeps me from getting speeding tickets. I've never had to jump start it even after leaving interior lights on. It's easy to clean the inside. Love the...
