Overview

Subaru is set to introduce a new edition of its sports compact car, the WRX. Expected to release in early 2023, the sedan will provide a roomy and airy interior. The premium Recaro seats with power adjusting make the ride comfortable. The infotainment system with 11.6 inch vertically mounted touchscreen display is integrated with several useful features. The sedan also comes with an impressive Harman and Kardon sound system with amazing audio output. Furthermore, the car looks sporty and athletic on the exterior like its previous generations. The brand is set to provide eight color options with the new Subaru WRX. There are tons of safety features that the company offers with the new WRX like STARLINK Safety with Security Emergency Sos and Blind Spot Detection (BSD).

Buying Advice

The best trim for the 2023 Subaru WRX must be Premium, which is priced at an MSRP of $32,105. The trim justifies the price with the number of features to offer like the top-shelf infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, and 18-inch dark gray wheels.

Comparative Analysis against Competition

There are four trim levels available for the sedan. One upgrade has been made to the trim lineup for the 2023 edition, namely the discontinuation of the WRX STI trim. The brand provides a standard turbocharged 2.4L H4 engine with the midsize sedan. The car also gets a standard AWD drivetrain and additional packages for the buyers to customize their purchase. The price for the Base variant is an MSRP of $29,605. In the market, the top competitors of the 2023 Subaru WRX are the Mazda 3, the Hyundai Elantra, and the Honda Civic.

The top GT trim comes with features like drive mode selection, electronically controlled dampers, and exclusive exterior design. Final Verdict

The 2023 Subaru WRX is not bringing major changes to the previous editions. The car comes with an advantage of a turbocharged engine and standard all-wheel drive. The high performance WRX STI is being discontinued by the brand which might be a disappointment for some enthusiasts. The fuel economy with both the transmissions of the WRX is not at par with the other sedans in the segment. This is also reflected in the range of travel of the car. The interior feels premium and the exterior profile is attractive as well. The infotainment system comes with an impressive display and features. The Harman-Kardon sound system integration is also a plus point with the sedan. The 2023 WRX also provides an abundance of features regarding safety, security, and entertainment. The best choice would be to go with the Premium trim in the line-up.
