Overview

Part of the fullsize pickup truck segment, the 2011 RAM 2500 Regular Cab competes with the Ford F-150 SuperDuty Regular Cab, the GMC Sierra 2500HD Regular Cab, and the Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD Regular Cab. A base price of MSRP $27,975 gets you a 5.7L V8 engine and a five-speed automatic transmission. Despite the price going up to $30,755, this single powertrain is found in both trims. This engine produces 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque, achieving a 0-60 of 8.1 seconds, and is offered as both RWD and 4WD. The RAM 2500 Regular Cab offers a single 8.1 feet cab with a payload capacity of 2,650 pounds for the AWD. It also offers a healthy towing capacity of 14,550 pounds.

Buying Advice

It is quite obvious that the base trim is essentially a workhorse, our recommendation leans more towards the top-level SLT trim which sweetens the deal by including features such as the chrome exterior trim, electronic trailer brake control, chrome-clad wheels, sliding rear window, power-folding heated side mirrors, cloth upholstery, and a plethora of other optional features and packages to choose from.
