The V-Class was heavily speculated for American release and with unnamed Mercedes officials confirming to WardsAuto, looks like we finally get to witness the V-Class in the American market. Scheduled for a release in 2026, the V-Class will arrive as a luxury minivan and will replace Mercedes’s EQV nameplate. In its third generation, the V-Class will be offered in single and dual-motor setups, two different battery sizes, and rear/all-wheel drive.
With Mercedes unveiling its van plans in May last year, the V-Class will be built on the VAN.EA platform. This platform is said to be more modular and scalable and will be the automaker’s architecture for its upcoming new mid-size luxury vans all over the world. The same platforms will also be used for developing larger cargo vans with exceptional hauling capabilities.
Mercedes hasn’t had much luck with minivans in the American market. Its last offering, the Metris, was a sales dud. However, Mercedes has not given up on the segment yet and expects the V-Class to bring success.
